Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hannah & Kyle Fitzgerald. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hannah & Kyle, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
A lot of growth and self-work have gotten us to where we are today. When you struggle with low self-esteem for a long time, it can be tough to break free without support. We were fortunate to have people in our lives who helped pull us out of that mindset and gave us a wake-up call that we do matter and are capable of achieving great things. When you start to see that in yourself, you realize you can become whoever you want to be.
In business, confidence comes from consistent practice—repeating your craft over and over until you know how to handle any situation that arises and adapt on the fly. It also involves a lot of mistakes and setbacks along the way, but that’s all part of the journey.
We’ve also come to accept that one day, we won’t be here anymore, and as cliché as it sounds, why worry about what others think? People are usually too focused on themselves to remember what anyone else did or said yesterday, let alone a week ago. The best thing we can offer in this life is to be fully and authentically ourselves.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Business wise – We are Renew Coffee. Renew Coffee is a mobile espresso bar. We hand craft all of our syrups because we understand what goes into your body matters! It’s fun because we customize our menu to fit any event. We are different than a coffee trailer – we go indoors and outdoors with our rollable cart. Our business is an event based business so we love showing up to any event that desires coffee. As we know, coffee is a big hit everywhere!
We are working on a lot! We’ve been in business for a year now and are continuing to grow. There’s so much more to do. As they say, everything you make goes back into the business. Currently, Hannah is pregnant with our second child so setting ourselves up for maternity leave is important. We’d love to get more employees, a warehouse/storage space, and a van for transport.
Hannah has a big desire to give back and help people in need. “Give back and you’ll get back tenfold.” We are working on partnering with new organizations and seeing how we can help those around us.
Personally – Kyle and I have been married for a little over 2 years. We have a daughter and another baby on the way. The short summary of our lives is we met in rehab and transformed our lives together. God is so good! We want to build an amazing business and continue to grow our family.
We believe the only things we leave behind on this earth are our kids and our business. People may not remember who started the business but they will remember what the business stands for and supports. People may not remember us in general but our kids will. They will write out their own story and hopefully we can leave behind beautiful, encouraging pieces of us with them.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that have proven essential in our journey are practical experience, resilience, and self-awareness. Hands-on work in your field is invaluable, and there’s no substitute for real-world experience when it comes to learning the ropes. Even part-time gigs or small opportunities can be invaluable. The key is to dive in; every step, no matter how small, pushes to your growth.
Resilience is another crucial quality. There will undoubtedly be moments of doubt, setbacks, and times when giving up feels like the easiest option. Resilience in the face of adversity is what distinguishes successful entrepreneurs. It’s the determination to keep pushing forward, even when the road gets tough. Expect challenges, and don’t be discouraged if things aren’t perfect at first. Each obstacle is an opportunity to learn, and the harder you push, the more manageable those become over time.
Self-awareness. Knowing your limits and understanding your motivations is huge. Ask yourself whether this business is truly what you want to pursue. Are you ready to make sacrifices, devote your energy, and commit to the ups and downs along the way? Being honest can help you stay focused when times get tough. It’s okay to struggle or even pivot if the path doesn’t feel right; growth comes from embracing the process, continuously improving, and giving it your all.
Starting a business is a leap of faith and it’s natural to feel uncertain. Embrace the learning curve and give yourself permission to make mistakes. At worst, you’ll gain invaluable lessons and can always choose a different path; at best, you’ll build something extraordinary and rewarding.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Exercise is a powerful teacher. It cultivates resilience as you continue to show up, push through challenges, and build stamina, all while boosting self-confidence. Moving your body is one of the most effective ways for us to fight against stress and overwhelm. I, Hannah, love to pair it with good music or an uplifting podcast to motivate me even more. There are some amazing podcasts that provide understanding!
For Kyle, drumming provides an opportunity to disconnect and express emotions through music. Whatever form it takes, moving your body isn’t just about physical fitness; it’s about finding balance and cultivating a mindset that empowers you to handle life.
Move your body! It’s so important.
