If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the three qualities I would want IR to be known for are-

Project Management and Organization: Effective project management and organizational skills are crucial for running a successful design and renovation studio. We develop a well-structured project management process that includes clear timelines, budgets, and client communication. Utilize project management tools to streamline your design project.

Client Communication and Relationship Building: We strive to build strong client relationships and is paramount in the design and renovation industry. Communication skills are vital, as out goal is to understand their needs, preferences, and expectations. By actively listening to our clients and conveying their design ideas clearly.

Never Stop Learning: We love to stay curious and are committed to learning. The design and renovation industry is ever-evolving, so we continuously seek opportunities for professional development, attend furniture markets and partner ourselves with other trades.

Advice I would offer to those that are just starting out-

Mentorship: Consider seeking out a mentor in the industry who can provide guidance, share experiences, and offer valuable insights. A mentor can be a tremendous resource in helping you grow and make informed decisions.

Network: Build a strong professional network within the design and renovation community. Attend industry events, join associations, and engage with peers. Networking can lead to collaborative opportunities and a deeper understanding of industry trends.

Practice Patience: Success in this industry often takes time. Be patient with yourself and your business. Use each project as a learning opportunity and stay resilient in the face of challenges.

How would you describe your ideal client?
Budget Awareness: The ideal client is realistic about their budget and financial constraints. They understand that quality design and renovation come with an investment, and they are prepared to work within their budget while prioritizing quality workmanship.

Effective Communication: Effective communication is key. The ideal client can articulate their needs and preferences clearly and is responsive to the design team’s questions and updates. This ensures a smooth and efficient project workflow.

Appreciation for Quality: An ideal client values quality work and understands that cutting corners in design and renovation can lead to long-term issues. They prioritize the use of high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
