Meet Hannah Rainy

We recently connected with Hannah Rainy and have shared our conversation below.

Hannah , sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.

For years I struggled/struggle with undiagnosed CPTSD and that came with numerous symptoms and other mental health challenges. There would be some years I felt stronger than others and at times like crashes of waves in my reality. Completely taking over my joy and gratitude for the things around me. Everything could be fine one day and the next I’m back to things I thought I let go of. Since childhood I’ve always gotten myself therapy or counseling when things get too much and I’m really glad I did that. I learned a lot about how my brain worked and how I coped with certain things. I embraced my diagnosis as it was nice to finally have a name and i stopped putting all of this shame on it. I’d say the most cathartic things that helps would be learning about Radical self love/Self acceptance from a therapist I had and also seeing that even though I struggled during the day I also encouraged and could empathize with others. That has its limits if coase and I strongly recommend understanding your limits and having strong boundaries for things that you don’t align with. Over all life is an experience and it’s okay to take it minute by minute. I also learned that it’s also okay to accept that you have a condition that turns out to be lifelong. It’s not the end of the world and you’re going to find people that will love you and support you on your journey wherever that may take you. Not everyone is going to understand your journey or story and that okay.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m an artist. Focused on the human experience. The good the bad the ugly. The beautiful, the ironic. I paint it , write it and speak it.

When I’m not doing that I’m enjoying my time connecting with other creatives in awesome spaces.

I’m a huge advocate for those who have grown up in cults and left as well as an advocate for those with CPTSD and PTSD.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Learning about non Subjective Art, Graffiti and Slam poetry.

All of these things are ways to express something that can’t always be said or done in certain spaces.

It’s a way of pushing back and making your art or words more than what is seen. It doesn’t have to be for anyone else either.

They make statements that few take the time to understand but when really looked it to you can deny it’s existence.

All three make look or feel something whether you agree or not.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Always looking to collaborate! Best way to find me is Instagram or Email me. I’ve collaborated with a few different people but I’m really looking for adrenaline junkies right now. So I’m talking extreme sports , Racing/Drift Auto Enthusiasts and snowboarding,Skateboarding,BMX enthusiasts. I have a few things in my list i’m really wanting to do. Maybe like painting in a car..;) or something to do with taillights. Lol

I grew up always loving High adrenaline things & any part of car culture, and racing strips low riders and just muscle cars. It’s in my blood. I have a side of me that loves going to a gallery and talking about art but at the end of the day I love the experience of a rock concert and XGames just as much.
