Meet Hannah Reed

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hannah Reed. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hannah below.

Hi Hannah, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
The two things that have helped me develop my confidence and self-esteem are measuring myself against my own wins and reciting affirmations every day.

The book, The Gap and the Gain, by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan taught me that the best way to develop confidence is to set my own measure for success while regularly reflecting on my wins throughout my life. Rather than constantly measuring myself against some ideal or even a goal in the distant future, I can measure myself against how far I’ve come.

Regularly reflecting on my personal and professional wins leaves me ending each day feeling like a total winner. And I’ve found that the moment I start comparing myself to an ideal, I feel like I’m less than enough and like I’m never going to “get there.”

The second tool I use to foster more confidence in my life is reciting affirmations multiple times a day. I alternate between affirmations I’ve personally written and Spotify affirmation channels (there are some really great ones out there)! By repeatedly saying things like “I am of value to my community” out loud, I’ve noticed such a difference in my mindset throughout each day.

I specifically apply these two concepts to my daily life through my nighttime routine! I spend some quiet time, away from screens, journaling and meditating each night. I’ll sit down and write down three wins from the day and then recite my favorite affirmations. Writing down 3 wins each day helps me document my success while also making me feel like I totally won at life today. Capping off the day with verbal affirmations is just the icing on top of the cake!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I help businesses grow their brands and generate more sales through Pinterest! I love that Pinterest is such a positive, inspiring platform, unlike other marketing channels, which means Pinterest fosters an environment of pure positivity and alignment for so many brands. In addition to that, customers using Pinterest are looking for solutions and inspiration for their next big project, which means they’re primed and ready to buy from the businesses that market there!

I love how Pinterest marketing is simple, lowkey, and less intense than other marketing platforms. You can literally schedule a month of pins at a time and then forget about it once you’re done! Then that content, which has no expiration date, works overtime in the background, generating sales while you sleep. It’s truly the most underrated marketing platform out there!

I’m narrowing down my vision for my company with a focus on passive income and consulting services (strategizing is my bread and butter, baby). So while I do still offer Pinterest management services, most of my availability is reserved for consulting projects. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Trust your gut – getting in-tune with your intuition is the most important skill I’ve learned on my business journey. Ignoring my gut has cost me lots of dollars and put me in really negative business relationships. I saw red flags and felt them inside, but ignored that feeling because things looked “right” on paper. Once I started paying attention to my intuition, I found myself entering more aligned client relationships, making wiser investments, and growing my business in a clearer way.

2. Self-improvement – your business WILL be a reflection of your internal stuff. Getting yourself into therapy and healing wounded parts of you will make such a difference in your business success, reputation, and community.

3. Detaching your worth from your success – it’s so dang easy to feel beyond worthy when things are going well. But if you’ve attached your self-worth to your success, that means you’ll feel worthless when you inevitably experience some failure. Detaching yourself during the highs makes the lows much less scary! You are worth so much more than the success or failure of your business.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
“10x Is Easier Than 2x” by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy has been the most important business book I’ve read to date. It helped me determine my goals, the level of success I want, and ultimately how to get there.

I recommend this book to every entrepreneur, not because everyone should be a 10x business owner, but because you should know if you want to be one or not.

The most valuable thing I learned from this book was how to identify my ultimate dream goals. From there, I learned what I need to focus on and cut out of my life and business to get myself there.

The second most valuable thing I learned from this book was that I needed to stop procrastinating hiring my first assistant. I’d been putting it off for so long, requiring myself to hit a certain income goal before I did, but then I realized I needed an assistant in order to even hit that goal in the first place.

This book also opened the door for me to find more confidence, happiness, and inner peace as a business owner!
