We recently connected with Hannah Stinson and have shared our conversation below.
Hannah , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my maternal grandmother, my Grandma Bebe, she is and will always be my number 1 role model in life. Generosity oozes effortlessly from her essence and it is contagious. From a young age she taught me the importance of being generous through the act and ritual of prayer. Every night before bed she would kneel at her bedside and bring her hands into a prayer position while her elbows rested on the bed. She told me we would kneel to show our appreciation to God (the Divine is what I refer to now but you can interchange God to your own personal Higher Power) and always offer prayers for humanity and others before praying for ourselves. This wasn’t because my Grandma was a people pleaser, I’ve learned how to honour boundaries as much as I have learned how to be generous because of her; but because she knew the power of generosity. And it is from her that I learned that being generous isn’t an act but an essence. Generosity is prayer in motion. And making my life one big moving prayer has allowed for generosity to be a part of who I am.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the founder of Healing with Hannah and the author of Entering the Divine, One Breath at a Time, an exploration of healing through sobriety and spirituality that was published in 2020 and has sold almost 700 copies since then. I am a New Paradigm Witch Leader, Published Author, Akashic Record Guide & Teacher, Tarot Mentor, and Womb Healer. I support divine beings in connecting with their soul essence to live a life of abundance, desire, safety, love and pleasure. I support individuals in connecting with their energetic womb spaces to heal trauma and energy blockages from their ancestral lineages, past lives, and current life. I love to serve my community through Akashic Record Healing, Trauma Informed Womb Healing, Central Nervous System Healing & Rewiring, Spiritual Life Coaching, Reiki, Ayurvedic Healing Practices, Yoga, Tarot Mentorship, and Witchcraft. I tend to serve a wide range of individuals, working with all folks from all walks of life. I have helped my clients with healing their infertility, chronic illness / disease, the root of their trauma, emotional disturbance, energetic blocks, relationships with themselves / others, sexuality and sensuality, relationship with their bodies and cycles – periods, menopause and inner seasons, to name a few. I am currently deepening my training as an Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula and excited to bring this into my offerings in 2024.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the 3 most impactful qualities / skills / areas of knowledge of my journey have been:
1. Healing my addiction to alcohol. On January 1, 2019, I stopped drinking alcohol and I began to reclaim my sovereignty. Choosing to stop taking a poison that I deemed to be medicine for over a decade of my life was a decision that was forced upon me from Spirit. I had hit my own personal rock bottom and was wallowing in the self-pity that came with an adult life of self-sabotage as my favourite and most trusted coping mechanism. It was January 1, 2019 when I woke up and heard a message from Spirit, which I know now was one of my ancestors saying “what the f**k are you doing?” But truly what was I doing? I was numbing. I was escaping. I was running. I was hiding. I was abandoning myself time and time again. I drank, I used hard drugs, I partied harder than my liver could handle. I was a hot mess and I wore it like a badge of honour. And underneath it all was gut wrenching pain. I was in pain. My inner demons were eating me alive as I suppressed my trauma with each drink, with each pill, with each black out. The first year of giving up alcohol was the hardest, I relapsed 3 times. The third time put me in the hospital. Life can be funny, maybe not funny haha but funny in a way that if you’re open to change, life gives you confirmations that change is inevitable. My liver disease diagnosis was confirmation from the divine that drinking alcohol was never going to be something I participated in again. It was the catalyst to my healing journey and I share more about this in my book, Entering the Divine, One Breath at a Time which can be found online on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Walmart.
2. Healing Anahata, my Heart Chakra. Healing my heart was the tipping point to healing my central nervous system – the heart contains it’s own independent nervous system, comprised of more than 40,000 neurons! I have become more emotionally intelligent, mature and secure within my relationship with myself and others – our heart provides us intuitive and emotional guidance to support our lives. I am often complimented on how my energy changes an environment, making it more calm and light – the heart’s electromagnetic field is so powerful that it radiates several feet outside of the body.
3. Learning how to read my own Akashic Records. First off what is the Akasha and Akashic Records? The Akasha while it is a beautiful source of the highest vibration of love, creative possibility, wisdom, and healing is separate in a sense from the Akashic Records which holds the blueprint for our true divine nature as well as memories of all the choice points that the soul has made along its soul path – both positive and negative. When we begin to work within the Akasha, we then enter the level of soul by accessing the Akashic Records. The Akashic Records exits within the expansive, limitless healing field of the Akasha, and contains all memories, and choices (both positive and negative) that the soul has made along it’s soul path during this incarnation and previous ones as well. In the last 2 years alone, working in my Akashic Records have allowed me to:
– Create the life of my dreams despite my chronic illnesses. I have been able to almost heal ALL of my chronic illnesses through the emotional, energetic, physiological and spiritual healing that I’ve done in my Akashic Records.
– Create safety within my body to grow & expand in all areas of my life. I’ve created a level of safety within my body that has allowed me to flourish, getting back to my hobbies and my passions that I haven’t been able to pursue in years because of chronic pain and being “sick”.
– Create a 6-figure foundation within my business. Learning how to read my own Akashic Records has helped me expand my business in ways I could’ve never dreamed of, including officially being a 6-figure business!
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Being overwhelmed has become such a constant in our society that I feel as if most of us have forgotten what it feels like to be content and fulfilled, and I say this because this was me for most of my life. As a society, we live in a state of dysregulation within our nervous systems, this is because we are hardwired to protect ourselves and survive. But that email your boss sends you on a Friday at 5pm isn’t supposed to make you feel like you’re being chased by a tiger. What happens is we get activated by the email, go into a sympathetic state in our central nervous systems and then instead of noticing what is happening in our bodies, we override the need to dispense the energy with our minds. Healing the feelings of overwhelm in my life has come back to healing my central nervous system and listening to my body.
When I get overwhelmed now, I do my best to notice what is happening in my body first and foremost. Stopping, pausing, slowing down and checking in with myself. Bringing my hands over my heart, closing my eyes and take 10 deep breaths to signal to my central nervous system that I am safe, that I am in fact NOT being chased by tiger but rather experiencing a sense of overwhelm in my experience. I start by noticing my breath and if it is shallow (in my chest) or deep (in my belly), I do my best to bring my breath deep into my belly to activate my parasympathetic nervous system and come into a state of calm. Then I begin to notice where I am holding tension in my body and what emotion is connected to this tension, I do this through a modality that I am trained in, which is Focus Centred Therapy. By creating safety in my CNS, and then an open line of communication with the part of my body that the overwhelm is manifesting in, I am able to get to the root cause of my overwhelm. This is the work I do with my 1:1 clients in my 9 month healing program, Mothering the Maiden.
