We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hannah Zlomke a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Hannah with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I knew when I was very young that if something was going to get done I had to figure it out. My mom was a very hard working single mom for a time when I was young I so appreciate how hard she work for our family. Doing that she wasn’t able to do extra things as much like our laundry ect which I’m grateful for because at a young age I knew that if I wanted clean close I had to get it done & learned how to do my laundry. Along with other things! Also see her example of work ethnic I think that always has stuck with me like she made things happen & has ran & started her own business’s. I saw that if you put the work in & put energy out there in what you want to do things are possible & will evolve.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hannah Z, aka fun-haver, is a dancer, Choreographer, fitness model/personal trainer, roller-skater, & dance teacher. She ultimately loves to move & loves to uplift & empower people thru movement! She has had the honor of being a back-up dancer on Timbaland’s TV Show, “The Pop Game.” You can also catch her bopping on her roller-skates in Jason Mraz’s music video, “Be where your feet are.” She has choreographed & performed in many live shows including for the Bet Awards Pre-Show. At one point you could find her bicycling her way thru a t-mobile ad up in Times Square, & playing Harley Quinn on roller-skates for the birds of prey premier show. Last Fun fact: Ne-Yo & Steve Aoki have recognized her work. She finds fun to have & fun finds her. Other mentionable artist she has worked with are: Karmin now known as Qveen Herby , Kiiara, Mark Ballas, Diana Ross, Don Omar, Muluma, Arashi
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say to become okay with the unknown in the learning process & the feeling of looking “funny.” It is so important because this feeling will come up but to not give up & trust the process that what you are learning will stick. I remember when I first started pursuing dance seriously I threw myself into ballet I had no idea what anything was, & I was dancing with kids half my age. I was flailing around for while & I could have let that discourage me but I knew in my heart this is what would be best for my dance path & dance is what I wanted to pursue because it’s what I loved so I held into onto that & didn’t give up because I felt funny or didn’t know something. Then after a while things started to click it was like whoa I can do this. Now I am teaching dance out LA & have been on Tv shows as a back up dancer & worked on music videos!
Secondly I would say work ethic. Putting in the work. I kept training & I keep training as a dancer, roller-skater, as a personal trainer I continue to workout to see how far I can go with my body ect. I believe what I put my energy towards is what will evolve so if these are the things I want to do in my life it is important to continue working on them. Then that also shows thru when I show up for an audition or am teaching or in my one on one personal training sessions I have something to offer & I am prepared.
Lastly Hope & belief in my vision. To believe in what I am wanting to do & that is it possible. Having a vision & then believing in it. Our mind our powerful thing & I really believe that I can attain what I set out to do I think that is how I’ve been able to accomplish some of the things that I have accomplished.
How would you describe your ideal client?
Someone who is seeking encouragement & motivation & wants to move. I love uplifting & empowering people thru movement & helping them to reach their goals while doing so. Whether that be thru a one on one dance or roller-skate lesson, my dance class, or a personal training session.
Also an artists or performers who are looking for help cultivating & finding freedom & empowerment in there there performance, stage presence & dance movement.
