Meet Hayisha Nicole

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hayisha Nicole a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Hayisha, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
My capacity for taking risks is continually evolving. During my younger years, I often made impulsive decisions driven by a survival instinct. However, as I matured, I learned to approach risks more strategically and calculatedly, which has yielded significant benefits. This growth was a result of a series of trial and error experiences. Instead of allowing failure to hinder me, I embraced it as an opportunity for growth. I diligently assess my losses, extract valuable lessons, and swiftly move forward. I firmly believe that I am not lacking; I am merely transitioning to higher levels of success!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hey y’all! I’m a blossoming entrepreneur with a passion for creativity! In addition to customizing clothing, shoes, and accessories I also model, create content, and make music! But that’s not all – I’m also a devoted mother. I try my best to juggle all my roles with grace and determination!

I started my first business, Young Lion Co. in 2017. We transform ordinary items into unique, personalized pieces that truly reflect the individuality of my clients. Drawing from my grandmother’s entrepreneurial spirit, I have proudly built my own business in the world of fashion customization. From a young age, I have been passionate about art and fashion. I have honed my skills in customizing clothing, shoes, and accessories, bringing my own unique style and artistic flair to each piece.

In the past year, I embarked on some daring ventures, including recording my own songs. Music has always been a passion of mine, so when my sister, Ms.SetItOff, invited me to collaborate on a track, I enthusiastically accepted the challenge. Despite my nerves being evident in the song itself (you can’t miss it, haha), the experience of recording and performing was absolutely exhilarating. It ranks among the most unforgettable moments of my life.

Furthermore, I delved into the world of modeling. Last year, I had the opportunity to collaborate with three prominent brands and even walked the runway in my very first fashion show. Becoming a model was a lifelong dream, and to finally have the chance to pursue it was truly awe-inspiring. Little did I know that my modeling endeavors would open doors to another exciting realm—acting. Recently, I had the privilege of filming my debut movie, “I Got You Forever,” a compelling piece written and directed by the talented KaYona Hannah. This remarkable film is set to premiere on Amazon and Tubi this upcoming Fall, and I feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of such an impactful project!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
These three qualities—courage, resilience, and a pursuit of knowledge and growth—have played a pivotal role in shaping my journey and enabling me to embrace new possibilities. By leveraging these strengths, I have positioned myself for continued success and fulfillment in my chosen endeavors.

𝗕𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀: Have the willingness to take risks and step outside your comfort zone. By embracing the opportunity to record songs, pursue modeling, and venture into acting, I exhibited the bravery necessary to pursue my passions. This quality can propel you forward and enable you to seize remarkable opportunities.

𝗕𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁: Throughout your journey you will encounter both successes and failures; do not allow the setbacks to deter you! Instead, show resilience by learning from your losses, extracting valuable lessons, and persevering. The ability to bounce back and remain determined has been crucial in navigating the challenges and uncertainties that accompany pursuing your dreams.

𝗣𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗳 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 & 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: My journey has been characterized by a thirst for knowledge and personal growth. From music to modeling to acting, I’ve consistently sought out new experiences, honed my skills, and expanded my areas of expertise. This commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement will allow you to excel in various domains and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! I’m on the lookout for individuals who embody the essence of pivotal collaboration.

I’m calling all filmmakers, fashion designers/brands, engineers, artists, photographers/videographers, makeup artists/stylists, mentors and/or industry experts!

Let’s create unforgettable experiences, make a meaningful impact, and empower others to chase their dreams.
