Meet Heather Ciprani

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Heather Ciprani. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Heather below.

Heather , we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

For me, self-care is less about bubble baths and more about what I’m feeding my body—inside and out. Since beginning my Master’s in Holistic Nutrition back in 2016, I’ve been on a mission to understand not just what we eat, but how our food system impacts our health, our skin, and our sense of well-being. That journey led me to become a private chef, a holistic herbalist, and the founder of Flower & Bone Supply—a line of nutrient-dense, food-based skincare. So in many ways, my entire career is built around self-care.

That said, I believe self-care doesn’t need to be expensive, complicated, or inaccessible. It should be nourishing, enjoyable, and rooted in simplicity. I treat my body and my skin with the very best ingredients—not because it’s trendy, but because I know it matters. And I’m not talking about rigid wellness rules. I’m talking about real food, herbs, rest, and rituals that make me feel grounded, vibrant, and clear-headed.

When I’m caring for myself this way—staying nourished, keeping inflammation and blood sugar balanced, and actually enjoying what I eat and use on my skin—I’m way more effective in all areas of my life. I have more energy, I think more clearly, and I show up more fully for my work, my creativity, and my community. My self-care isn’t a separate part of my life—it’s the foundation everything else is built on.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I like to say I nourish people from the inside out—literally. I’m a holistic nutritionist, and herbalist turned skincare formulator, and private chef which basically means I’ve found a way to turn farmers’ market hauls into both dinner and your glow-up routine. My company, Flower & Bone Supply, is a food-based skincare brand rooted in the belief that if it’s good enough to go in your body, it’s good enough to go on it. It’s like farm-to-table, but for your face.

I started my Master’s in Holistic Nutrition in 2016 and quickly realized just how broken our food system is. From there, it became my mission to use real, nutrient-dense ingredients—no fluff, no fillers, just the good stuff. That philosophy spilled into the kitchen, bathroom, and eventually into every bottle and jar I make.

What’s most exciting to me is how simple true nourishment can be. Whether I’m cooking a deeply comforting, protein rich meal that pairs exceptionally well with wine for a client or formulating a skincare oil that smells like your dream herb garden, it’s all about reconnecting people to their bodies, the land, and the wisdom of nature.

Right now, I’m focused on growing Flower & Bone Supply as a sanctuary for nourishment and ritual. We have our The Constant Gardener Vulva Oil (yes, you read that right), which is our way of saying skincare doesn’t stop at your face, and every part of you deserves to be honored and cared for.

I’m also working on more in-person offerings—hands-on workshops, pop-up dinners, and community experiences that bring people back to the roots of self-care: connection, nourishment, and joy. At the end of the day, I just want to help people feel good in their skin, trust what they’re putting on their body, and know they’re truly cared for in a world that’s constantly telling them they need to be “fixed.”

And if I can sneak a few herbs and good fats into your dinner and your skincare routine? Even better.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Curiosity with a Capital C.
It’s what led me to question the way we think about food and wellness, explore what’s really in our skincare, and ultimately blend my love of cooking, herbs, and holistic nutrition into something totally my own. I’ve always followed the little sparks—those “what if?” moments—and they’ve led me to the most meaningful parts of my work. For anyone just starting out: stay curious. Ask questions. Try things. Let your interests evolve. That’s where your unique path begins.

2. Willingness to Start Before You’re “Ready.”
So much of my journey has involved taking the leap before I had all the answers. I’ve said yes to opportunities before I felt totally qualified and launched products before I had everything polished and perfect. The truth is: you learn by doing. Perfection is often just fear in disguise. If you feel the call, follow it. Action creates clarity.

3. Integrity, Always.
Integrity is the backbone of everything I do. Whether I’m formulating a skincare product or preparing a meal, I choose ingredients, partners, and practices that align with my values—real nourishment, sustainability, transparency, and respect for the body and the planet. Integrity isn’t always the fastest path, but it’s the one that builds trust and longevity. My advice? Don’t cut corners. Don’t sell out for trends. Build something you’re proud of—something that feels like a full-body yes.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely. I’m always looking to connect with aligned collaborators—people who share a passion for real nourishment, thoughtful design, and creating experiences or products that actually make people feel better in their bodies.

Whether you’re a boutique or wellness space looking to carry food-based skincare, a fellow chef or practitioner who wants to co-create an experience, or someone working in regenerative agriculture, herbalism, or storytelling—if your work overlaps with nourishment, beauty, or self-care (the real kind, not the Instagram kind), I’d love to hear from you.

I’m especially excited to partner on:

– Pop-ups or workshops around holistic wellness, seasonal eating, and skincare rituals

– Retail collaborations with like-minded shops and spas

– Creative partnerships with makers, artists, writers, or photographers who get the vibe
