Meet Heather Franklin

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Heather Franklin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Heather, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Oooo this is a good one! If I’m honest- my son! He’s 4 and anytime I’m slacking creativity him and I come up with something fun to do! We just recently did a painting photoshoot and we loved it!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hi, I’m Heather Franklin owner and photographer for Violet Aster Photography. I’m a 23 year old mama to the sweetest four year old and girlfriend to the kindest man you’ll ever meet!
I have a bunch of rolls! Mama, girlfriend, photographer, SAHM, dog lover, daughter, friend- I could go on and on!!
But being a photographer is one of the greatest accomplishments I’ve ever had, I have literally built my business from the ground up. The first time I charged for a session I charged around $15…. and now the smallest I charge is $150! But my work has grown with it and is worth it. It’s because of my clients that I’ve been able to grow, learn & expand over the last 5-6 years!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1: Self Confidence- if you don’t believe in yourself and your work, no one will. 2: Constructive Criticism- everyone will have a opinion about what you do, but only listen to the ones who are trying to help you grow and succeed and learn from what they’re saying.
3: Slow Down- nothing is perfect the first go around, and it’s not supposed to be. Slow down and learn from others, look around you and soak in the good times. Don’t let stress cause you to miss out.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Are you kidding me?! Of course I am! I would love to collaborate with just about anyone- but I would love to make some content with Tiktok creators with at least 20k followers! I had a video reach 8.5 Million before and I’m trying to build up my audience again.
