Meet Heather Nardi

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Heather Nardi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Heather below.

Heather, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
As a sensitive mom with a business called Empath Mama, I found my purpose through my own experience with my daughter’s struggles with multiple mental illness diagnoses. My daughter started struggling at the age of 8 and was prescribed medications, visited therapists, and, in her teenage years, was admitted to facilities. We didn’t see things get better or change. That is when I intuitively decided that there must be a better approach.

At the age of 14, we turned to a more holistic route and discovered that we are both highly sensitive people. This realization allowed us to find a more nurturing and empathetic approach to managing her mental health. Through my journey as a sensitive mom and my professional expertise as a certified holistic life coach, I have developed my business to help other sensitive moms navigate their experiences in a nurturing and empowering way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a married mom of two children, a daughter aged 23 and a son aged 17, I have experienced all ages and stages of parenting. My family is very important to me and still keeps me busy. I am also very passionate about animal welfare. We have a cat and dog in our home, both from local rescues, which adds an extra layer of compassion to my life.

Empath Mama was founded in 2019 and is where I focus on supporting others through my personal experiences and education. What I find most exciting and unique about what I do is the opportunity to create a community of like-minded individuals who can come together, share their stories, and support each other in a safe and nurturing environment.

I am thrilled to announce that I will launch an exclusive membership soon for sensitive moms. This membership will provide deeper and more personal support to sensitive moms seeking guidance and tools to embrace their sensitivity and thrive as mothers. In addition to the membership launch, I plan various events and collaborations to expand Empath Mama’s reach and impact further.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge most impactful in my journey were:

Open-mindedness: Being open-minded and willing to explore different approaches and perspectives has been immensely valuable. It allowed me to challenge traditional notions of parenting and seek alternative methods that align with my values and my family’s unique needs.

Intuition or inner guidance: Trusting my intuition has been a powerful tool. Our intuition can offer valuable insights and guidance in making decisions and navigating challenges.

Support system: Having a support system of individuals who understand and validate the challenges you are experiencing along your journey. People with similar experiences and struggles can provide solace, advice, and a sense of belonging. Finding a supportive network can make a significant difference in your journey, whether through online communities, support groups, or close friends.

If you are early in your journey, my advice is to focus on being open to exploring different approaches and techniques to find what resonates with you. Engage in discussions with others to gain diverse perspectives. Always tune in to your intuition and ensure it feels good.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

If I knew the next decade was my last, I would prioritize spending time with my family. It would be a top priority to support and be there for them, cherish every moment, and create lasting memories together.

Additionally, I would dedicate myself to positively impacting other moms’ lives, exploring the world through travel, and sharing my experiences through speaking engagements. Supporting and empowering fellow moms in their journey would bring me fulfillment and purpose.

Traveling would be essential in providing opportunities for cultural immersion and creating lasting memories with my loved ones. I would seek new destinations and experiences, appreciating the beauty and diversity of the world.
