Meet Heather Redisch

We were lucky to catch up with Heather Redisch recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior—how people think, what motivates them, and how they connect with others. That curiosity started back in college and led me into a career in recruitment and talent management. I loved helping people find roles where they could thrive, but what I found even more fulfilling was shaping workplace cultures that allowed them to truly succeed.

Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours interviewing, coaching, and managing employees from all generations. But when it came to Gen Z, I noticed something different. Their upbringing—being raised on smartphones, valuing authenticity, and navigating a rapidly changing world—means they approach work in a way that doesn’t always align with traditional expectations. Watching their struggles firsthand lit a fire in me. I realized there was a real gap between what the workplace was asking of them and what they were equipped to deliver.

That’s when my purpose became clear: to help bridge that gap. I’m passionate about empowering rising and recent grads to step into the workplace with confidence, skills, and clarity. At the same time, I want to guide leaders and organizations in adapting to this new generation. It’s not just about helping Gen Z succeed—it’s about building workplaces where every generation can thrive together.

Looking back, it feels like all the pieces of my career—recruiting, talent management, culture-building—have led me here. It’s not just work for me; it’s a mission to create a future workforce that’s prepared, empowered, and ready to rewrite the rules in the best way possible.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I turned my purpose into my business, which led me to launch the Adulting101 Masterclass. After spending nearly 25 years in recruitment, talent management, and workplace culture-building, I noticed a significant gap: the disconnect between generations in the workplace, especially as college grads transition into adulthood. That realization shifted my focus to helping young professionals feel equipped and confident to navigate the complexities of both life and work, while also guiding leaders to better understand and support this new generation.

Adulting101 Masterclass was built to address the real-world challenges of adulthood—things like finding and keeping a job, managing bills, saving for retirement, prioritizing physical and mental health, moving into your first “adult” apartment, making new friends, managing time effectively, and so much more. These are the practical skills they didn’t learn in school but are essential to thriving in the real world.

What I want people to know about my brand is that it’s grounded in authenticity and connection. I’ve seen how important it is to feel seen, understood, and supported. That’s exactly what I aim to deliver—whether I’m coaching leaders, talking with parents, or helping students take their first steps into adulthood. It’s about meeting people where they are and giving them the tools to succeed on their terms.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are curiosity, resilience, and emotional intelligence. Each of these has shaped how I approach challenges, relationships, and opportunities.

1. Curiosity: From the start, I’ve had a deep interest in understanding people—what motivates them, how they connect, and how they grow. That curiosity has driven me to ask questions, explore new ideas, and continuously learn, whether it was about human behavior, workplace dynamics, or generational differences.

Advice: Stay curious. Ask questions, seek out mentors, and never stop learning. Read widely—books, articles, even social media insights—and find ways to apply what you learn in real life. Growth happens when you’re willing to explore beyond your comfort zone.

2. Resilience: No journey is without setbacks, and resilience has been my compass through tough times. Whether it was pivoting in my career or navigating new challenges, resilience has allowed me to adapt, recover, and keep moving forward.

Advice: Build resilience by viewing challenges as opportunities to learn rather than failures. Practice self-compassion, and surround yourself with people who lift you up. Journaling or reflecting on how you’ve overcome past difficulties can also remind you of your strength when you need it most.

3. Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Success in any field requires understanding and connecting with people. EQ has helped me navigate difficult conversations, build trust, and lead with empathy—whether in recruiting, talent management, or coaching young professionals.

Advice: Hone your emotional intelligence by practicing active listening, seeking feedback, and being aware of how your actions affect others. (All of what I teach in my Adulting101 class!) Empathy isn’t just a soft skill—it’s a superpower that builds meaningful connections.

For anyone early in their journey, I’d say this: Focus on developing the qualities that allow you to adapt and connect with others. Success is less about having all the answers and more about staying curious, bouncing back, and building authentic relationships. You don’t have to have it all figured out today. Keep learning, keep showing up, and trust that every step—no matter how small—gets you closer to where you’re meant to be.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
