We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Heather Reese. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Heather below.

Heather, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I discovered my true purpose during my divorce. At the time, I thought my life was falling apart, but in reality, it was just the beginning of a new chapter. It gave me the space and freedom to redefine myself, to become the person I always wanted to be. I took a dive into reconnecting with my Latina roots, searching for meaning and strength in my culture that I had overlooked before.

Without the weight of all the past expectations holding me back, I felt empowered and ready to embrace new opportunities and put myself out there in ways I never had before. What started as documenting my personal journey after divorce—first by pursuing modeling—grew into something much bigger: an Instagram series that became my way of giving back to my community. I wanted to showcase the voices, the stories, and the richness of my culture in a way that felt authentic and empowering.

Through this series, I’ve shared not only my own transformation, but also highlighted the resilience, beauty, and strength of the people around me. It’s become a platform where I can celebrate my community and uplift others. What started as a personal project has turned into a life-changing mission that has connected me to my roots and to so many incredible people along the way.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Being a lawyer sparked the idea for my series. Seeing how underrepresented Latinas are in the legal field—only 2.5% of lawyers in the U.S. are Latina—highlighted the lack of visibility we face across many industries. I created this platform to amplify the voices and talents of the Latina, Latino, and Latinx communities, showing that we have everything we need within ourselves.

Some of the memorable experiences have included working with a renowned Latino chef and cooking with him live, as well as collaborating with spiritual guides, wealth activists, models, and therapists—each adding a different perspective to the series. I have gotten to showcase small brands just starting on social media to big well known brands.

What I’m most proud of is that every step of my series has involved collaborating with Latina professionals, from creation to production, ensuring that our community’s talent is reflected in every part of the process.

As the series grows, I’m excited to meet and collaborate with even more incredible people. This journey has been amazing, and I’m grateful for the support I’ve received. The best is yet to come!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Resilience: Life doesn’t always go as planned, and my divorce was a big challenge. But that doesn’t mean I failed—it was simply a turning point that gave me the chance to grow and redefine myself. My advice: Don’t be afraid of setbacks. They’re part of the journey, and they give you the opportunity to pivot and build something better.

Community: I’ve learned that I can’t do this alone. Building strong relationships and supporting others has been crucial. My advice: Find your tribe, collaborate, and lift each other up. You’ll go further together.

Boldness: Taking risks and being confident has made all the difference in my journey. My advice: Don’t hold back. Try new things, take bold steps, and trust that those moves will lead to growth.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

The person who has been most helpful in helping me overcome challenges and build the skills I needed to succeed has been myself, honestly. Going through difficult personal experiences like my divorce forced me to rely on my inner strength and resilience. But I’ve also had incredible mentors, friends, and family who played key roles in supporting me along the way.

In particular, my community—the people around me—have been my biggest support system. Whether it’s been friends who’ve encouraged me to keep going, fellow Latina professionals who’ve shared their wisdom, or mentors who helped me navigate new opportunities, they’ve all helped me build confidence, resilience, and the drive to keep pushing forward. One mentor, in particular, taught me the importance of always staying true to my authentic self, even when things get tough. That advice has been invaluable. Authenticity has been my foundation—it has allowed me to be vulnerable in ways I never thought possible.
