Meet Heather Sloan En Wei Li

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Heather Sloan En Wei Li. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Heather Sloan, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
Both Li and I have some strong spiritual roots and in times of difficulty we often turn inward or to those who can help guide us better spiritually to stay positive, even if things are looking not so pretty.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
HEALI is a Health and Wellness brand focussed on changing the landscape for natural wellness. Our goal is to empower people to be able to care for themselves, naturally and with a sense of style – who says healing needs to be boring.

We are friends and health care practitioners using our education and background as well as our love for fashion to create new innovative products that can help people – all while looking good.

Our first product to market is HEALI tape – a game changing Kinesiology Tape infused with Magnesium and Menthol , 2 natural ingredients for pain relief and faster recovery. Our future products coming out later this year include more innovation with amazing benefits.

All our products are natural, infused with high quality ingredients, heavily tested and have Magnesium. Magnesium is so amazing for so many reasons: Flushing lactic acid, promoting sleep and mood, helping with cramps, spasms, twitches, electrolyte balance, cortisol regulation, flexibility and so much more

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1) PARTNERSHIP – finding a partner who balances you as well as someone to share the ride with. The journey is filled with ups and downs and is both hard and super rewarding at different times. Finding someone to enjoy the ride with makes it super worthwhile. Finding someone to compliment your skill sets also really helps round out the company’s expertise

2) CONSERVATIVE SPENDING – Bootstrapping where you can, being conservative where you can – the timing of funding and cash flow never seems to align with the vision in your mind and having a safety net can go a super long way – even if that means scaling a bit slower

3) SAY YES-STAY POSITIVE and MEET EVERYONE – You never know what opportunity or chance meeting will lead to

For people who are starting out …find some great ADVISORS – having incredible advisors to help you with avoiding pitfalls and mistakes they have made can decrease the mistakes and help set you up for success

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Both Li and I have a fantastic work ethic, the kind of work ethic that you are brought up with from family values, traditions and goals. I would say instilling a work till the job is done mentality would be the most impactful thing. We both work incredibly hard and when deadlines hit or things need to get done we will work all night till it gets done. We both also are working mothers and when times are a bit more quiet we try our best to balance our family life. Our parents also are highly supportive and encouraging of our achievements and having support of family all around us is also super impactful

Where do you get your work ethic from?

We’ve all heard the phrase “work hard, play hard,” but where does our work ethic
