Hector & Juliana, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Raised in a family of tailors with strong Christian values, Hector Machuca and Juliana learned from a young age the lessons that now form the foundation of Tailors Couture. Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
We are a second-generation team of tailors with extensive expertise in fashion. Hector Machuca, a former Project Runway designer, brings years of industry experience to Tailors Couture LLC. Founded with a passion for quality craftsmanship, we specialize in alterations for both men’s and women’s clothing, with a particular focus on bridal alterations. In addition, we offer custom suit services to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Finding a truly skilled tailor in Houston and surroundings can be challenging, as many shops lack the experience and attention to detail needed. However, when clients walk through our doors, they not only get a professional team of tailors but also personalized styling advice—completely free of charge. We want our customers to get the most out of their clothing, which is why we take the time to explain trends and recommend the best fits based on body type.
For instance, if a client is unsure about the proper length for suit pants or how long a suit jacket should be, we walk them through the options and provide expert guidance tailored to their specific needs. Every individual is different, and we believe in offering personalized care to ensure they look and feel their best.
Many clients also ask about pricing or where to have their wedding gown tailored. We’re proud to say that brides who visit us are often pleasantly surprised by our competitive pricing. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I must to choose only three qualities or skills, I would say Experience, Knowledge and Determination.
Experience is earned over time. Knowledge is built through dedication. And determination is the driving force behind it all. Hector Machuca, who holds a degree in fashion, knows that when you are committed to achieving something, you prepare yourself, educate yourself, and apply all your experience. The result? Success.
We live in an age where many people want instant results, especially in the age of social media, where success often appears to come overnight. Some claim it’s easy or that they achieved it in no time. But the truth is, valuable and lasting accomplishments are the product of patience, hard work, and a deep commitment to your craft.
