Meet Henry Kellem

We recently connected with Henry Kellem and have shared our conversation below.

Henry , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

During my childhood, I harbored a profound inclination towards serving humanity, despite encountering numerous challenges. Raised in a single-parent household alongside five siblings, our family grappled with financial strain exacerbated by the tragic loss of a brother to gun violence. Lacking external support, I aspired to offer assistance to others once afforded the opportunity. Enduring financial adversity instilled in me a resolve to acquire the necessary tools for self-improvement and familial support. Navigating this journey compelled me to ascertain my own purpose in the absence of role models. Having undertaken the task of personal betterment, I now possess the capacity to impart invaluable wisdom and knowledge to benefit humanity at large. Identifying as an educator rather than a motivator, I am committed to disseminating enlightenment and empowerment across the globe.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Utilizing storytelling as my educational medium, I offer audiences practical tools grounded in scientific principles, complemented by the authentic narratives of my personal odyssey. Through this approach, I aim to inspire and uplift individuals.
I have ventured into the realm of creating motivational music and street poetry, leveraging these mediums to extend the reach of my message and share my story with a broader audience.

In addition to my creative pursuits, I curate wellness retreats, such as those held in the serene environment of Malibu, providing respite from the chaos of urban life through rejuvenating practices including yoga, meditation, and sound bathing. Complementing these endeavors, I have established my own lifestyle brand, High Key Lifestyle, centered around holistic well-being encompassing mind, body, and spirit. Through a diverse array of offerings including keynote speeches, webinars, seminars, and motivational music.

I strive to catalyze positive change and foster a sense of community wherein individuals support one another in their respective journeys. Ultimately, my goal is to cultivate a collective ethos of empowerment and mutual support, guiding individuals towards greater fulfillment and well-being.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Without a doubt, the three qualities that is going to take for you to make it on this journey is perseverance, consistency and faith. I like to call that the “Gangsta Mentality.” It all comes down to YOUR mindset.

Perseverance – keep going no matter WHAT.
when you understand life is truly about the journey, not the destination. It’s easier for you to keep going. I think about Jack Canfield a lot, it took him 144 times to get his book published. He said if he would’ve stopped at 100 no’s, he wouldn’t be where he is today. How many No’s will it take you to quit on your dreams?

Consistency- Show up to life everyday with enthusiasm and ready to go. Consistently trying to get better each day. We don’t do what we feel like, we do what we are committed to.
ex: workout, study, sleep.
Once you adapt the right behaviors, you create a habit.

Faith- “You don’t have to see the whole staircase in order to take the first step.”-MLK
You must have faith and order to face the challenges you will encounter in this journey of life.
Faith to know that although I can’t see the end, everything will workout fine.
Faith to know even though I don’t have all the answers now, they will be revealed to me in due time.

My advice to you all is that having awareness, and undertaking that life is a process.
Life is always expanding. It’s about growth and change. When you change the way you look at life, you can approach things differently
Having awareness that you have to look within and take responsibility . It will be so much easier for you to adapt to the “Gangsta Mentality “mindset.

By working through these challenges you can grow and become a better person.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My teacher and Mentor Yehuda Magen.

Yehuda helped me believe in myself and to take action into making my dreams, my reality.

There were times I struggled with my sense of self-worth and didn’t know that I was good enough. Through his wisdom and guidance, I began to see myself and the world different. Through his teachings, I gained a sense of purpose and self-worth. I learned how to use my God given talents.
