Meet Hetal Patel

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hetal Patel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hetal below.

Hetal, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Confidence and self-esteem are a work in progress—there are days when I walk into a room feeling 100% sure of myself, and other days when imposter syndrome creeps in. But over time, I’ve learned that confidence isn’t something you wake up with—it’s something you build through experience, growth, and continuous learning.

One of the biggest factors that has helped me develop confidence is constant education and training. Surrounding myself with peers who have more experience, pushing myself beyond my comfort zone, and continuously seeking out opportunities to learn and improve have been key. Early in my career, I spent over a decade working in trauma and primary care, fields where I was highly experienced and comfortable. When I decided to pivot into aesthetic medicine and entrepreneurship, I essentially turned my career upside down—starting from scratch in a new industry where I was a newcomer.

To overcome that initial uncertainty, I took the initiative to complete a full-time residency for three months, even though it wasn’t required in Florida. That experience not only gave me technical skills but also helped me build connections with experts in the field. Networking and learning from others have been essential in growing my confidence—every interaction, whether with a rep, a mentor, or another business owner, is an opportunity to learn. I’ve also learned that it’s okay not to know everything. Too often, people hesitate to ask questions because they want to appear like an expert, but I believe that even the best in their fields can learn something new every day.

Over time, seeing the real results and transformations in my clients has further strengthened my confidence. When a client walks in feeling self-conscious and leaves feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and more like themselves, it reinforces why I chose this field. That trust my clients place in me—seeing their outcomes, joy, and confidence grow—fuels my own confidence.

One of the biggest reasons I transitioned from conventional medicine to aesthetics wasn’t just about beauty—it was about empowering people. Aesthetics isn’t about vanity; it’s about helping people feel confident in their own skin. Whether it’s a simple Botox treatment that helps someone look more refreshed or a laser procedure that removes a scar that’s affected their self-esteem for years, these treatments have a domino effect. When someone feels good about themselves, they show up differently in life—they’re happier, kinder, more willing to take chances, and more confident in their relationships, careers, and daily interactions.

At the end of the day, confidence is about growth, learning, and helping others feel their best—and that’s exactly what keeps me inspired every day.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Every day at Balance Aesthetic & Wellness is an exciting one because we are growing by leaps and bounds, constantly building connections within the community. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is hearing a client say, “I was referred to you by so-and-so!” That word-of-mouth trust is incredibly meaningful, and it reinforces the impact we’re making in people’s lives.

What I love most about aesthetics is the artistry—it’s not just about procedures, but about sculpting, enhancing, and restoring in a way that feels natural and empowering. Many of my clients have never had an aesthetic procedure before—they’ve never tried Botox, fillers, or even stepped foot in a med spa—and I take a medical and educational approach to guide them through the process. I spend 45 minutes to an hour with each new client, getting to know them as individuals—their lifestyle, their goals, their concerns. Instead of simply identifying areas to “fix,” I focus on what brought them here—why, at this stage in their life, they are seeking change. That human-to-human connection is at the core of everything we do.

I believe aesthetics is more than just beauty—it’s a form of therapy that people don’t often talk about. It may start with a Botox appointment, but it often leads to something deeper—a renewed sense of confidence, self-care, and empowerment. I’ve seen firsthand how even small changes can have a domino effect—when someone feels good about themselves, they walk through life differently. They take chances, radiate confidence, and show up as the best version of themselves.

This philosophy is what inspired my tagline, #FindingMeAgain, which has been with me long before I even opened my practice. It comes from my own personal journey—after having my second child, I found myself lost. I had an incredible career, a beautiful family, and a wonderful life, yet I felt like an extension of my children, my husband, and my responsibilities, rather than a person with my own identity. I was mentally and physically unhealthy, and I knew something needed to change.

Over time, I slowly rebuilt myself—focusing on nutrition, fitness, and self-care—and in that process, I kept saying to myself, “I’m finding me again.” That mantra became something deeply personal to me, and it’s now something I strive to share with every client. Because if I could feel lost in the middle of a seemingly perfect life, then I know countless others—men and women alike—experience the same thing.

At Balance Aesthetic & Wellness, our mission is to help people rediscover themselves—not just through aesthetics, but through confidence, self-care, and empowerment. Sometimes, we just need a reminder of who we are and why we’re doing this—and I’m honored to be a part of that journey for so many.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, there are three key qualities that have shaped my journey into entrepreneurship and aesthetic medicine:

1. Believing in Yourself – Even When It’s Hard

For a long time, I struggled with self-belief. I knew I had the skills, the passion, and the ability to impact people’s lives, but I still doubted myself. I was stuck in a corporate job where I felt unheard and like just another number, and for years, I told myself that the timing wasn’t right to make a change. I thought, “The kids are still small, they need me,” or “Everything has to be lined up perfectly before I take the leap.”

But the truth is, there’s never a perfect time. My husband’s encouragement made me realize that if I waited for the perfect moment, I’d be waiting forever. You don’t need to have it all figured out before you start—just start. Every journey has a learning curve, and if you keep taking small, consistent steps forward, you’ll eventually see the bigger picture come together.

2. Show Up Every Day – No Matter What

Entrepreneurship isn’t easy. In the beginning, there were days when I had no clients walking through the door and moments when I questioned whether I had made the right decision. But what separates those who succeed from those who don’t is persistence.

I showed up every single day, even when it was hard. Even when I felt discouraged. Even when I had no idea how things would turn out. The repetition, the consistency, the willingness to keep going—that’s what makes a difference. If you’re starting a business thinking it’s all about making money, you’ll struggle. But if you focus on your purpose—why you’re doing this in the first place—success will follow.

3. Success is Built One Step at a Time

I’ve always had a clear vision of what I want to accomplish and the impact I want to have on people, but I didn’t always know how I was going to get there. And that’s okay. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success isn’t built overnight—it’s built piece by piece, step by step.

There will be ups and downs, moments of doubt, and times when you feel like giving up. But if you keep pushing forward, adjusting, and learning along the way, you’ll find your way. The people who never see success are the ones who give up too soon. You have to trust the process, stay committed to your purpose, and keep going, even when the path isn’t clear.

Advice for Those Just Starting Out

– Believe in yourself—even if you don’t have it all figured out yet.
– Show up every day, no matter what.
– Success doesn’t happen overnight—it’s built through consistency, hard work, and persistence.

If you keep moving forward, stay focused on your purpose, and refuse to quit when things get tough, you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

How would you describe your ideal client?

I never like to put ourselves in a box because we help people in all stages of life. However, my ideal client is the mom who does it all—the one balancing a career, raising a family, and managing a household, yet somewhere along the way, she’s lost herself. She’s devoted to her family, always putting their needs first, and as a result, her own self-care has taken a backseat. Now, she’s in a phase of life where she’s realizing that taking care of herself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.

I also work with young professionals navigating the demands of work and personal life, striving for confidence in every aspect of their journey. And it’s not just women—men, too, deserve self-care. Many don’t realize how much a simple facial, wellness treatment, or aesthetic service can positively impact their confidence and overall well-being.

At Balance Aesthetic & Wellness, we’ve created a space where these individuals—whether they’re moms, professionals, or men prioritizing themselves for the first time—can reconnect with who they are, invest in their well-being, and feel empowered in their own skin.
