Meet Hira Ubaid

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hira Ubaid a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hira , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Dealing with imposter syndrome was quite a ride for me. I realized I was often setting the bar way too high for myself and constantly comparing my progress to others, which was a real confidence killer. So, I started celebrating even the small wins and asking for feedback from mentors and clients to get a clearer picture of my strengths. Keeping up with learning and professional development also helped me feel more competent and less doubtful. Plus, I learned to cut myself some slack, understanding that making mistakes is just part of growing. Over time, these little changes helped me see my worth and feel more confident in what I bring to the table.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m thrilled to share a bit about what I do and what makes my work so exciting! With four years of education in marketing and another four years of hands-on experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients. Instead of niching down to a specific industry, I’ve embraced the variety, which I believe is one of the best aspects of my brand. This approach has allowed me to learn and adapt to different market needs and challenges, making every project unique and stimulating.

As my business has grown, I’ve developed a small boutique agency where we work closely with clients, offering personalized and in-depth support on their growth journeys. Our signature service is our comprehensive social media marketing and content creation, designed to help businesses enhance their online presence and engage with their audience effectively. We’re always excited to take on new projects and help our clients achieve their goals.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities have been crucial in my journey: adaptability, continuous learning, and trusting the process. The most important skill for me has been the ability to adapt to change. Working in social media means there are always new emerging platforms, tools, and features, so being open to learning new things has been essential.

I’ve found that continuous learning and investing in my own business always pays off, keeping me ahead in this ever-evolving field. Staying updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques has allowed me to offer the best possible service to my clients. I’ve always believed that investing time in my education and professional growth is crucial for long-term success. I make it a point to regularly attend workshops, read industry blogs, and network with other professionals to keep my skills sharp.

The entrepreneurial journey is a rollercoaster with its fair share of good and bad clients, and plenty of ups and downs. Developing the skills to cope with these situations and having faith in the journey itself has been essential. There have been times when things didn’t go as planned, but trusting that hard work and perseverance would pay off has kept me going.

For those early in their journey, my advice is to wholeheartedly embrace change and commit to learning. Stay curious and open to new experiences and tools, as they will keep you ahead in this fast-paced industry. Remember, every setback is a learning opportunity, and every step forward, no matter how small, is progress.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am always looking for opportunities to collaborate with other business owners & industry experts. You can connect with me at my email address info@thevirtualjourneys.com or message me on Instagram.
