Meet Honey

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Honey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Honey below.

Honey, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

When I was younger my confidence and self-esteem was extremely low. I was bullied in elementary school because of the way I looked and how my hair was. As I got older I learned that being accepted for who I truly am was important to me. Also understanding that you can’t please everyone has also been apart of my confidence journey.
I’m a firm believer in being kind to people and giving off good energy. Simply because you never know what the next person is going through. I truly want to inspire young girls to LOVE who they are, flaws and all. I learned my self worth and ever since then I have flourished in gaining confidence for myself. Self love will always be the best love to me!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am known as “Honey” aka Your Favorite Oil Lady! I am a young female entrepreneur from Detroit, Michigan where Everything Honey, LLC was born. A business known to be a “Jack of all trades”. Everything Honey is growing rapidly and I’m forever grateful for that! I am known for producing some of your favorite perfumes & colognes in the form of long lasting, potent & premium body oils. I have loved smelling good since I was 9 years old. I think the most important thing about my brand is that it gives a sense of confidence. When you smell good, you feel good.

Everything Honey is currently working on a surprise meet & greet and designing billboards to be put up around the city of Detroit!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities, skills and areas of knowledge that were most impactful on my journey would be first my drive. I have been preparing myself for about 13 years to retire at the age of 40. This has been a long-term goal for me. Everything Honey has definitely helped inspire me with this goal. Secondly my creativity, I have created 6 fragrances that can only be found at everythinghoney.bigcartel.com! I have also created custom fragrance gift boxes, car fresheners and so much more. On top of building & designing my own website. Lastly, consistency has played a great part in my journey. As a business owner you have to stay consistent and relevant. It has not always been easy but I know that the reviews and orders I receive daily will continue to push me to be great.

If you are just starting your journey, I encourage you to keep pushing. Understand that it will not just fall in your lap. If you put the work in, your journey will began to flourish right before your eyes. Take your time and run the race at your pace.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

So actually there are two books that have played a huge part in my development. 9-5 Millionaire- Don’t quit your day job by Jemal King & Mud 2 Millions by Ayesha Selden. Both books were introduced to me by my good friend Fletch, Owner of Fletcher Vending, LLC. These books both gave many nuggets of wisdom but my favorites from both are understanding that working a 9-5 to fund your business is completely necessary and ofcourse normal. Maximize opportunities to build your brand.
