We recently connected with Hope Farmby and have shared our conversation below.
Hope, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Wow, that’s a great question. I was able to find my purpose by following my passion. For years, I have practiced Yoga and really enjoyed it. In 2020, I decided to join a Yoga Teacher training program to deepen my practice. It was during this training that I found my passion for sharing Yoga with others. I was able to connect with other yogis and quickly realized that not only do I enjoy teaching but I have a unique gift of making the practice welcoming and accessible for folks who normally would not consider taking a yoga class.
I truly believe that in pursuing your passion one’s purpose will come into focus.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Thank you for the question. I started a virtual yoga studio in 2020 and in 2024 was able to transition to an outdoor studio that offers a restful and relaxing experience. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
As I am in the wellness field, one of the biggest skills that impacted my journey was maintaining and growing my own personal yoga practice. I also attend numerous yoga retreats and conferences to network, build community and learn about new products and items in the industry. I also believe having a mentor in your chosen field in a vital resource. It is important to have a sound boarding and confidant to assist as you grow your business and brand.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Great question! Yes, absolutely. I would love to partner with folks in the ayurveda community, the sister science to Yoga, to add a knowledge and resources for my students It would also be great to partner or collaborate with black and women owned businesses that offer athletic wear, yoga props and healthy teas.
