We were lucky to catch up with Hot Love recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hot, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
What brings me purpose is being able to express experiences that occurred in my life. Regarding love, family, identity, change, introspection, relationships, into songwriting. So, I can help heal somebody who feels the same way but, doesn’t have the tools to express themselves.
Struggling with communication from an early age, it was challenging for others to understand what I was trying to say.
The only medium that felt natural for me to express my honesty and emotions was songwriting. With that followed 12 years and counting of study of the best songwriters, producers, mixing engineers. To help further understand how I can us my own experiences to make the best art and songs I can.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Martin, and I go by the artist name “Hot Love”. I am a songwriter and musician from Los Angeles, California. I am 24 years old.
I am an Alternative artist based in Los Angeles. Inspired by The Strokes, Dayglow. I self-produce and write music from my bedroom studio. With the release of my Debut Album 9, which followed my Debut EP titled Lovesick I invite listeners on a journey through my experiences with love, offering insights into my inner world, ups and downs, and personal realizations.
I want to be an inspiration to others to see that they don’t need any major backing to create art that will last the test of time.
You just need a group close friend who believe in you and see how much you can actually create.
At the beginning of this year, I started performing with a backing band of handpicked musicians chosen to help me perform my original music. The band members are Christian Galvan (Guitar), Nick Bernal (Guitar), Josaiah Acuna (Bass), David Bravo (Drums), Xavier Solis (Former Drummer)
We have performed at venues like Que Sera, 1720 Warehouse, Tiki Bar. and many more venues to come. To help establish a strong brand I have established up my website “hotlovejunkie.com”. I also have launched a line of merchandise under “Hot Love Apparel” to further expand my brand.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Patience, Accountability, Understanding, Grace
We are all in charge of our own lives and outcomes. The advice I would share to someone who is early in their journey is to study and be patient with your process. Never compare somebody else’s riches to yours because we are all created differently. Be so sure that you are in this for the right reasons and purest intentions. Be okay with being ignored and overlooked while you’re developing. Be okay with being a part of the process without material gain or compensation for a long time.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
There are a handful of people who help me overcome challenges and develop the skills to be successful in any area in life.
All of my family, teachers, friends are a great support system to help me go through any difficult task with ease.
My single mother who raised 4 kids on her own, my brothers, who paved their way into the fields that minority groups are not usually apart of like, entertainment, science, governments. My coach Mike Hermosillo and team down at Six Blades Jiu Jitsu South Gate
help me remember to be resilient and humble and have gratitude while I pave the way to break new ground just as they did before me.
