We recently connected with Hot Sizzle and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Hot Sizzle with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I think the work ethic comes from the competitor in me. Also wanting to be the best at what I do. And those two working together just put me in a different mental state. When you want something to work in your favor, only thing you know is succeed. I look at writing music like a blank white wall and you have all the utensils you need to create. So now, at this point it’s all about what you do with the space provided to get your point across to the viewer/listener.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I make music that cuts through the noise. Real stories, raw emotions, no filters. I write, I perform – and every bar got a heartbeat behind it. I’m not here to play it safe or follow formulas. I create from experience. The highs, the lows, the hunger, heartbreaks, all of it. That’s what gives the music its edge.
What’s exciting about it? For starters, I’m going to go with the creative process. After that I’ll say watching people feel it. Music is joy, music is pain, music brings the life out of you. When someone comes up like, “Yo, that line hit different,” that’s everything. That means I’m doing my job. I don’t make background music. If your an actual listener of music and someone who depicts music, I guarantee you’d be even more amazed.
All I want people to know is: this ain’t a phase or a vibe. This is real life in audio form.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three important things… consistency and discipline is where I’ll start. Making music isn’t just about talent. It’s about showing up even when you don’t feel inspired. I had to treat music like a full-time job that WASN’T paying while still having a passion. Whether it was writing lyrics, recording, rehearsing, or learning the business side, I made a habit of doing something everyday that moved me forward. Advice, set a schedule. Show up for your art even on days you don’t feel like it. Over time, consistency builds momentum and opens more doors than luck ever could.
Secondly, emotional honesty and vulnerability. I always felt like a true artist speaks from the heart when creating. If you can’t be true to yourself, how can you be truthful to your audience? Sure, it’s plenty ways to stare down that comment, but I’m speaking solely about MY artistry. And people respond more to the truth, even if it’s raw or uncomfortable. My advice to this part would be don’t be afraid to say the things that scare you. The realest parts of your experience are often that makes feel, seen, and understood.
Last but not least the one thing that brings it full circle, the business and self-advocacy. Understanding contracts, royalties, splits, branding yourself. Knowing the business and always being a student of new lessons helps you move smarter and protect your creativity, and journey. And the last bit of advice I here will be, don’t just focus on the art. Take time to learn the business. Read, talk to mentors, ask questions and listen. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being prepared.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’ll partner or collaborate with whomever it makes sense with. As long as it’s a win, win. If you tryna make collab hit me up and then we can go from there.
