We were lucky to catch up with Howard Zinahgel recently and have shared our conversation below.
Howard, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Understanding yourself and knowing who you are, I think, plays a huge roll into having confidence and loving yourself. Self-esteem will come into play once you are true to yourself. Opinions are opinions at the end of the day. I’m still really open minded to other peoples opinions and constructive criticism. You will know what you want and need to succeed in this environment.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Howard Zinhagel, but I go as “Howiezi” which is my stage name. I am currently searching for my first gig this year to perform at a local venue but i’ve been hard at work producing new music for myself. Ive released a number of tracks on all social media platforms in the past few months with “Through the Valley” coming out in a couple weeks, July 9th, with LFTD globals sub label LVLD. I’m currently working on ideas for new merch also for all the fans out there that have been asking!
This has been the most consistent and driven I have ever been throughout my career where i’m releasing at least one track to 3 tracks a month and getting good responses out of them. This has always been my dream and i’m finally making it a career! I promised myself that I will never stop and to continue pushing the limits and boundaries of the electronic scene.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience would number 1 on my list. With any craft or skill, it wont happen overnight. Work ethic would be my number 2. You have to create constantly, consistently, always find the faults and slowly perfect your process. The more your work on your craft the more you will progress and grow.
As a creative, the biggest downfall is writers block and mind blocks. Sometimes you’re not that creative and struggle coming up with new ideas. This is normal and something that everyone struggles with. Sometimes you just need a break for as long as you need to come back stronger. As long you’re goals are still there, you don’t need to worry so much.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
The biggest obstacle I have right now is marketing. I’ve been studying and self teaching myself with promoting my music/ brand. Getting the exposure I need in this day and age is extremely difficult. It is also not the worst since we have social media at our fingertips. Promoting and being on top of content and social media is the biggest challenge that I face since i’m pretty inconsistent about it. I’ve just revamped my brand/ logo to fit more of the club and festival scene but also still has my flavor and my style. I’m going to start going out and start networking with other artists and venue mangers.
