We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hugo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hugo below.
Hugo, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Growing up in Veracruz, Mexico I started. working at a very young age in order to help my neighbors, friends and family. I would help with general cleaning, yard work and landscaping in order to have a little bit of spending money. I was also responsible for doing my daily chores at my house, which of course I didn’t get paid for!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Our restaurant was initially started in 2015. What I am most proud about is that during this time we continually support and give back to our community, via donations and fundraisers. The restaurant went through many hard and trying times as we continued to build our brand. We started off with really no employees and over the years with lots of hard work we now employ many full time and part time workers. This has been very satisfying as we take very good care of our employees and have given them an opportunity to better themselves.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
By far:
Work Ethic
Honesty
Resilience
These all tie together in a very meaningful way. When times are tough my work ethic and resielency got me through. I could always see the light at the end of the tunnel because I knew over time that the restaurant would become successful.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
By far the love and support of my family and friends. There were many times that I considered possibly changing paths due to stress and doubting myself. This is where my family and friends continued to support and push me forward to get to my ultimate goal of starting and establishing a successful business.
