Meet Hunter Franklin

We recently connected with Hunter Franklin and have shared our conversation below.

Hunter, so great to have you on the platform and excited to have you share your wisdom with our community today. Communication skills often play a powerful role in our ability to be effective and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your communication skills.
I love this question of how I developed my ability to communicate effectively. The reason I love it is because although most people traditionally think that communication is just with others, it is also with yourself. A lot of people have a hard time communicating with themself, whether it be how they feel, how they need to move forward, or communicating to themselves what just happened.

With that being said, I owe a lot of being able to communicate effectively to my father. From a very young age my dad brought me to lots of events for his work. He would have me help out, meet lots of people, and sometimes even get on stage to talk. This allowed me to meet a variety of people from many walks of life.

Compound all of that with being involved at Church, traveling the world, growing a 15-person business, you MUST learn to communicate effectively. This is something you develop over time, especially when you talk with people higher-up than you in business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
God is the reason I am where I am at the age of 25. I am all in on my business and my marriage, and that’s about it right now. I learned in 2023 that I needed to limit my desire to do other things. Many people want to try this and try that, start this and start that. Why don’t you just do what is working, and do it well?

You don’t need to have another source of income right now. You don’t NEED to invest in real estate right now (great if you can). How about you multiply your network and your income? I can’t control the markets, but for the most part I can control how we build our team, how we handle our clients, how we start charging more in our business, etc.

You might be wondering what our business even is. Brotherdale – a company founded by my best friend and myself.
Brotherdale is a full-service creative agency that scales businesses by integrating high-performing videos and photos with marketing campaigns. I would like to update you soon on some very exciting things, but I can’t share that quite yet.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
It’s easy for me to call out three qualities/skills/knowledge that impacted me. These three things are my faith in Jesus Christ, learning finances, and the knowledge of understanding to escape the rat race.

I knew from a VERY early age I did NOT want to be stuck in some job that capped me. I can’t stand that feeling. So, starting from age 14+ I have always been cooking up something in business. Going from earliest to now when I made money would be Minecraft servers, to paracord survival bracelets, to a Christian apparel brand, to mowing yards, to picking up a camera and filming weddings, to now running a 15-person creative marketing agency.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
The challenge I am currently facing is constant project management. When we sign clients, we typically sign them on a monthly contract. These contracts typically include set deliverables that we have to execute every 30 days. There is a point in business growth where you sign so many monthly clients that you personally as the owner can’t just have your eye on every little thing.

Moving forward, I am hoping to have good systems in place and hire a few more people in the right positions with the best objectives each month.
