Meet Hunter Shigley

We were lucky to catch up with Hunter Shigley recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hunter , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

It wasn’t until recently in which I was able to understand and appreciate the upbringing and positive environment my family provided me to thrive and succeed. Positivity was engrained in me from a young age and that is why I view the world in such a postive light and try to see the best in people. There is a happy, laughing child full of play within us all and I hope to never lose that.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As a creative in this space there is definitely uncertainty in the future but that is part of what is so appealing to me. You never know what is just right around the corner. Which excites me is being able to write and create my own stories and also act and be part of amazing productions. I have a few feature scripts that I am finishing up as well as some independent films on the horizon.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

There are so many different points in my life as well as role models who really engrained a positive and focused work ethic it is hard to pinpoint which ones were the most beneficial but i think thats a lesson in itself. Listening, being open. Being able to listen and get others point of views and perspectives has always helped me. Optimism, having a bright outlook on life goes a long way. In all aspects of my life even outside of acting and being creative I try to live a optimistic life. And finally having fun. It may be cliche but whats the point of doing something if you don’t enjoy it? I have worked many 10-12 hour days on set, and I always ask myself, is this worth it? Do you like this? At the end, this is what I chose, and this is what I love to do. It gives me purpose to create.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Supported my no matter what. As long as I was doing what made me happy, the supported me. I would have done it with or without the support but having it meant so much to me and has made everything much better.
