Meet Huntly Plantz

We recently connected with Huntly Plantz and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Huntly, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?
It comes from my school as I attend home school, and I have to be highly responsible and disciplined to achieve success in that sphere.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Huntly Plantz was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, on January 28, 2009. He is an only child and enjoys relaxing with friends and family, tennis, and video games.

He has traveled the world and has many more adventures he wants to explore. Fun Fact – Huntly has a secret passion for roller coasters. He has ridden over 120 roller coasters around the world.

Huntly’s passion for acting started when he was twelve. His first part was by chance. Since that magical moment, he has been working towards learning and developing his acting skills through acting coaches, camps, and directors’ guidance through increasingly more interesting and challenging roles.

He has received two Thespians awards, Superior at Florida State and Critics Choice at the Florida Regional Monologue competition.

He has been selected for commercials, voice-overs, web series, TV, and movie projects with Lifetime and Disney. Most recently, he was cast in a supporting role in the Feature Film “The School Duel.” (2024)

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
When I started this acting journey, the three essential qualities were remembering to have fun, staying focused, and being grateful for every opportunity.

I am often asked this question, and I always say not to give up. There will be many auditions, each preparing you for the next one. Be confident in your work, and the roles will come.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Since I started this acting journey three years ago, there have been many challenges, i.e., COVID-19, the actor’s strike, and management changes.

But, each challenge opened up new opportunities.

The actor’s strike allowed me to practice my skills and add new ones to my resume. Getting everything done in a day can be challenging as a full-time student.
