Meet HXZE

We were lucky to catch up with HXZE recently and have shared our conversation below.

HXZE, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

Just about everything I have in this world stems from skateboarding.
My sense of self worth,
confidence, and my optimism are the things that keep me grounded in this chaotic world.
Being a skater has taught me to stand out, while still being cool with every person Iv’e met. That being said, actually taking the time to learn how to skate takes extreme dedication. The fact that you have to keep trying until you finally land something, all while under the pressure of continuously falling on the concrete translates to so much more. So whenever I’m skateboarding, painting, or singing, I know that going through the process of getting to that next level, is all apart of that final achieving moment. The drive to push something that is beyond my sense of self, but in essence is that, is why I even have it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Lucid Life. I create things and make things happen. Lately Ive been tattooing a lot, a few close friends let me start on them, and it’s been steadily progressing. I really just want to have my own original designs, maybe a series or something, just knowing something is gonna come from it is keeping me stoked. I’m in this phase of life where everything that I’m working on can go far in any direction, and I can see it, way easier than before. Earlier in the year, we created a cement lego brick. I collected a decent amount of milk crates and the homes & I built a couch out of it. Put out my first Official music video, Hollywood Signs, & I’m About to move to Cali.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Id say three areas of knowledge that have been the most impactful to me on my journey would be, being open to all criticism, going through plans step by step, and having the ability to adapt to the situation. For anybody thats early in the game, understand that wether you’r seeking criticism or not, It’s going to be there. So try to use everything anyone says to you to your advantage, it may just lead you to a new idea. Having your plans laid out, can take a lot of pressure of your mind and make everything run way smoother. Being able to check things off the list can definitely bring in a sense of accomplishment as well. As far as my own career and creations, I feel like things never turn out how I want them exactly, but being accepting to change and going with the flow will for surely surprise you. Thats the exciting part.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yeah, I’m totally looking to collaborate with new artist of all kinds all the time. I love seeing what people can do to push themselves. Especially in music, thats my shit. Visually, someones always blowing my mind. Iv’e done a decent amount of collabs so far, & it takes whatever we’re working on to a deeper place, like electricity is moving through us. I think it’s just more fun that way yah know. Bouncing ideas of people and then putting them in motion. It’s so much fun sharing energy in that way, & often it goes a lot farther. Everybody’s hyped to see it.
