Meet Ian Moore

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ian Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ian below.

Hi Ian, so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?

I usually have to switch perspectives. When I’m working on music and hit writer’s block, I’ll switch gears and move on to another song. When I’m writing a story or developing a movie concept and get stuck, I’ll shift to a different story or even a different point in the same one. Eventually, inspiration always comes back. It might take a week, a month, or even longer, but I always return to finish the project once the right idea hits me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m Ian Moore — though most people online know me as ‘The Ian Moore.’ I wear a lot of hats: content creator, writer, entertainer, and entrepreneur. I’m also a co-owner of Forever Unlikely, a brand dedicated to entertaining people while encouraging them to chase their dreams, no matter how impossible those dreams might appear.

Today, my focus is on building Forever Unlikely into something bigger — a platform that not only makes people laugh or think but also inspires them to believe their own “unlikely” goals are worth chasing.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Confidence. Resilience. Patience. Self-Respect.

Chasing a dream or a goal can be incredibly gratifying. It’s rewarding. It feels like the ultimate win—you’re doing what you love. And in your head, you think, what could be better than that?

But the truth is, it’s not all sunshine. More often than not, it’s disheartening. It’s sickening. It’s heartbreaking, frustrating, expensive. It’ll make you bite your nails, pull your hair, lose sleep, and fight anxiety.

People will try to big-time you. Overcharge you. Tear you down. Step on you. Take advantage of you. Some will even try to push you aside simply because they think you’re coming for their spot.

So the real question becomes: how much do you want it? How deeply do you believe in yourself? How confident are you that you can actually pull it off? And how resilient are you—because make no mistake, you will get knocked down, and you’ll get knocked down far more than anyone will ever see.

But if you truly want it, you can’t quit. Because if you quit, you’ll never know just how close you were to the breakthrough.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Money and time. That’s the struggle for every creator.

If everyone had unlimited money and unlimited time, dreams would be so much more achievable. Right?

If I had the money to quit my day job, spend all day filming YouTube videos, pay for top-tier editing, and buy the best equipment money could buy—I know it wouldn’t take long to get where I’m going. If I had endless time to plan massive production shoots, hit the music studio whenever I wanted, and budget for advertising and press for every track I released—I know it wouldn’t take long to break through.

I’m confident enough in my ability. I believe in it. But the obstacle for every creator is life. And life always finds a way to get in the way.

I make significantly more money now than I did a year ago. But does life still get in the way? Yes. Always.
