We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ibiye Anga a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ibiye , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I love this question because my creativity is what keeps my work alive. To me creativity and learning are synonymous. From engaging in new hobbies, traveling, and enrolling in learning paths. All these activities sustain my work and ventures. Anga Haus, my education consulting business, is the main vehicle that keeps me inspired and allows creativity to flow abundantly. At Anga Haus we design learning paths through arts and wellness activities and as you know there is no shortage of creativity and inspiration with these.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My career has been a dynamic blend of creativity and strategy. From producing high-profile fashion events in New York to curating thought-provoking art exhibitions across the country, I’ve always been driven by a passion for creating immersive experiences.
At Anga Haus, we’ve translated this passion into producing public art experiences that inspire and empower. Our journey began by showcasing and preserving exceptional artwork, but we quickly realized a growing desire among audiences to actively engage with art, rather than simply observe.
We believe that everyone has an artist within them. Through our diverse range of programs, including augmented reality workshops, painting, ceramics, and more, we provide a platform for individuals to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and find joy in the artistic process. By fostering a vibrant and inclusive community, we’re committed to making art accessible and enjoyable for all.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Undoubtedly, my insatiable curiosity and relentless pursuit of knowledge have been the cornerstones of my career. These qualities have fueled my endeavors and provided an unwavering compass. The true rewards lie in witnessing the transformative impact of our work. Seeing our clients elevate their potential is immensely fulfilling. I believe that following one’s curiosity is essential to a vibrant and creative life.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
