Meet Iesha Madden

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Iesha Madden. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Iesha , thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout

Burnout was something that I have experienced several times in my life and it was of no one else’s fault but my own, well mostly. My people pleasing skills had me saying yes when I should have said no and prioritizing others above myself. After becoming a mom, I realized that the burnout was happening more frequently. I had less capacity but was acting as if nothing changed when the biggest change of my life just happened. After not being able to cope for awhile, I went out on stress leave from my teaching job and while on stress leave I found a new job that gave me the flexibility and the space that I needed to do well at my job but also take care of myself and my family. After working at that job for awhile, I was diagnosed with ADHD. So much more made since and I was able to understand ways that supported my mental health and productivity. Now a year later, I am thriving in every aspect of my life because I decided to say no to many things and yes to myself.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am currently a Career Coach that helps support students who are out on practicums and preparing to me full time Early Childhood Educators. The most exciting aspect of my job is to help support students in becoming the best version of themselves. While my main focus is to help them build their employability skills and confidence in their ability, as an advocate for mental health, I also check in to see how they are doing personally. Many of our students are international students and parents who are trying to create a better life for themselves and their families.

I also am a Mom Content Creator that supports and advocates for moms. The best part of what I do is hearing from moms about how much my content resonates with them and how it has helped them. I believe it is my mission to support moms in whatever capacity that I am in and I love the opportunities that I have gotten to uplift and empower moms from all around the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities that I possess that I think are most impactful to my journey are Optimism, Resilience, and Grace . I consider myself to be an eternal optimist and I truly do believe that something good is always about to happen and that keeps my spirits Resilience because I don’t give up. I pivot, but don’t give up. The most impactful I believe is Grace. Giving myself grace has helped me to accept my humanness but at the same time know how truly amazing I am.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

The biggest area of growth and improvement has been my self-awareness. Shoutout to my therapist for helping me to become curious about the way in which I respond to things and helping me understand the underlying feelings that come up with certain things happen in my life. While, I still have a lot of work to do in this area. I am proud of the progress I have made. Cheers to more self awareness.
