We were lucky to catch up with Ìfé Michelle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ìfé, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
In hindsight , I never really had to “ find “ my purpose. When I stopped searching, it was revealed.
I simply surrendered and allowed it to guide me. My awakening to this, occurred when I finally realized that my purpose was not anywhere outside of me. It was not disconnected from me, or lost in any way.
My purpose was always within me. It was born with me, and waited patiently for me to remember.
My purpose was revealed when I allowed it to reveal itself, and when I trusted that it had the best intentions for me.
I believe that we are all born with our purpose… it simply waits until we are ready to trust the journey that has been designed and orchestrated for us.
My purpose is distinctly connected to my intuition, which is what I consider my internal divine navigation system. I allow my purpose to be, when I trust in it, more than my fears.
My prayer “ Thy will be done through me, relieve me of the bondage of self, so that I may do thy will”, allows my purpose to lead, it reminds me of the power of my purpose, and strengthens my ability to surrender to it daily.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a mental health therapist and an Iyalorisha, or Priest in the Lucumi tradition, I recognize the importance of the connection between mental health and spirituality. My mission is to gain understanding of the mental, by understanding it’s intimate connection to the spiritual.
I also believe that in order to successfully address the mental, one should re establish the relationship with their higher self and higher power.
This connection and remembrance is what provides the medicine that is needed. It provides the connection with that which will facilitate the healing that is required.
In this space one is then open to evolve through the lessons at the crossroads of one’s life.
It was through such experiences that my book “ Divine Reflections at the Crossroads “ was conceived. When I awakened to the knowing of the spiritual importance and the Ancestral role of the lessons of life, the healing began.
With this insight, I am able to share this knowledge with others, by holding space for them to remember their greatness and lead an empowered life.
My platform, “ Sacred Crossroads” reminds others that the crossroads of one’s life, are powerful points of time, to make choices and decisions that will provide opportunities to heal and ascend.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that are most impactful to my journey are, the idea of openness, surrender and receiving.
The first step is to remain open to the blessings. If one is not open, then they block the blessings. By remaining open, one can allow the blessings to flow into their life. This allows one to manifest from a place of strength, as opposed to a place of fear.
The second, is to surrender. Once you open, then surrender to the greatness that awaits you. As I quote in my book “ Divine Reflections at the Crossroads “ , to surrender is not to give up, but simply to give in to the power of your Souls journey.
Surrendering allows one to trust that the Universe and Source, will always provide that which is in our highest good.
The third is to receive. Many fail to open and surrender…to then create space to allow. This practice of allowing, provides opportunities to receive. One’s willingness to receive, perpetuates the cycle of blessings and abundance. It encourages and supports feelings of worthiness, which breaks barriers that may be self imposed.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
There were many books that played an important role in my personal and spiritual development, however in retrospect, I realize that the most transformative was the one I wrote for myself. It was written with the intuitive guidance of Spirit and the Ancestors that supported me.
My book “ Divine Reflections at the Crossroads “ was the most impactful, because it captured the healing that was necessary not only for me, but for my lineage. It addressed Ancestral healing, as my ancestors healed through me, and I through them.
This healing proved to be the most lasting and revealed an inner strength and ancient wisdom, that I knew came from within and was reflected into the Universe.
Once I embraced my power, I thrived.
Once I trusted in the divine timing of life, I gained confidence, inner peace and trust.
As quoted in my book, “ When you affirm what you desire, trust that the Universe is listening, but only gives you what is yours in Divine time. “
My book also challenged me as well as others, to reconsider their fears as well as ways to re establish their power.
As I close, I would like readers to reflect on this…As you journey through the Crossroads of life, what would your life look like if you believed in your power as much as you do your fears?
