We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ignacio Larraza. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ignacio below.
Hi Ignacio, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I’ve cultivated my confidence and self-esteem through a combination of mindful practices and personal values. Firstly, I maintain perspective on what truly matters in life, family, everyday moments, and creativity.
Professionally, I’ve found that my confidence grows when I approach my work with passion and dedication. Instead of fixating on external measures of success, I focus on whether I’m genuinely giving my best effort and staying true to my passions.
I’ve learned the value of refraining from comparing myself to others. By acknowledging that everyone’s journey is unique, I can appreciate my own progress and accomplishments without feeling diminished by external standards.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Before earning my Bachelor’s degree in Music Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music, I had a successful career as a guitarist, opening concerts for bands like “All Time Low” and “Panic! At The Disco”. Growing up both in Spain and the United States, my musical sensibility blends pop, rock, and urban Latin music.
Currently based in Los Angeles, I’ve produced for artists such as the Mr.305 legends Pitbull and Omar Courtz, Indian superstar Raja Kumari, Singaporean standout lullaboy, and Berlin dance duo YouNotUs. His music has been featured in series and films like “The Kardashians”, “Never Have I Ever”, and the blockbuster “Jawan”. He has also worked as an engineer and mixer for artists like Lil John and Willow Smith, among others.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I guess the three qualities that have impacted my journey the most would be:
Being open to unexpected opportunities, putting your heart in your work. and staying true to your values.
And the one piece of advice I’d give to anyone starting on this would be to remember to enjoy every moment.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was wholeheartedly supporting my career choices. Initially, there was some apprehension on their part as they adjusted to the idea. However, once they recognized how serious I was about it they gave me their full support.
Their belief in me has been a constant source of strength and encouragement, providing me with the confidence to pursue my dreams with determination. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them.
