Meet Imani Craig

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Imani Craig. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Imani, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

At Epic Cons, our purpose is fueled by our desire to succeed. Success to us means providing fans an opportunity to interact with their favorite celebrities, and hopefully meet lifelong friends along the way. We work to provide an Epic community for all event goers.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

We’ve been asked many times the origin story of Epic Cons.

We all met, through one way or another, after attending a fandom convention for a little show called One Tree Hill. We used these yearly events as an opportunity to reconnect with one another. Slowly, a genuine friendship built, and seeing each other one weekend a year, became a family that communicated every day.

Conventions connected us, and it is now our dream to foster that same magic for you, the attendee.

We know what makes an Epic event as we have been attendees before business owners. Delivering a premiere, immersive experience is of the upmost importance to us. We promise to never lose that. We are fans, first and foremost, and that will forever remain at the forefront in everything we do.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Integrity, honesty, and diligence.

Anyone can start a business, but not anyone can find longevity. I think what sets our convention company apart from others is having all three. It’s hard work, but if you’re in it for the wrong reasons, you’ll burn out quickly.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

For any one of us on the Epic team, it is very easy to feel overwhelmed. In 2024, we have 5 events in process. 2025 is just the same.

Scheduling and keeping organized is the biggest tip. Delegating specific tasks to those who do best in that area is crucial. For me personally, I have a degree in communications so I am Epic’s point for media relations and communications at large. Honing in on specific skillsets is paramount.

Take care of yourself always. You can not run a business if you run yourself to the ground. Lean on your community and constantly work to evolve. Most importantly don’t be afraid to ask for help.
