Meet Inel Woo

We recently connected with Inel Woo and have shared our conversation below.

Inel, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I still find myself having imposter syndrome sometimes, and have to remind myself that I can do more because I’m capable of so much more. This is really a mindset thing! I’ve always been a procrastinator and overthinker. Probably because I like things to turn out perfect. And when this happens, nothing gets accomplishment or it takes for ever to get it done. Now I have to say to myself, you either going to do it or you’re not. Or count to three in my head and “JUST DO IT”. Mel Robbins says that the success is in counting down from the number five, “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” and do it! This is a way of pushing yourself.

Listen to your heart. If you have a strong urge or feeling to do something, don’t listen to others that tell you, you can’t. Replace the “can’t” with “can.” Years ago before I started blogging, or had my Instagram account, I remember telling a friend what I wanted to do. I was so excited and was hoping for a positive response or some encouragement. She flat out told me that I wouldn’t be able to get products from brands and that I should think of something else to do. At first, I almost doubted myself. But then, I told myself if I don’t give it a try, I would never know if I would be able to do it. And thank goodness I listen to my heart.

Each day before I begin my day, I thank the Lord for all my blessings and everything that I have. This brings me into a positive space. When I do have negative thoughts, I make sure to replace these with positivity, even if I have to do this throughout the day. Or meditate for 5 minutes or take a walk. I use an app called “InsightTimer” which is very useful. Here you can find positive quotes, meditation tracks, affirmations, sign up for live events, listen to mind calming music, you can journal and explore so much on this one app. A support group is also vital to help each other gain confidence. I stop comparing myself to others as we are all unique in our own way, and we all do things differently.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am Inel Woo, a lifestyle content creator. I’ve always been very creative just like my late mom. I can knit, hand & machine sew, crochet, design felt and ribbon hair bows to match kids dresses, decoupage clipboards, created washer necklaces, and ribbon hairbands. I’m at no means an expert, but always willing to see if I can create something that I’ve not done before. This gives me inspiration. I also love to cook and bake.

Before I got started with Instagram, I created a blog and even paid for a blog / social media course. Here I was going to blog about my Nickel allergies, anything lifestyle related and mindset. You can visit my blog “www.iceeresults.com”. The blog is incomplete as I’ve been spending all my time building up my Instagram account. Now that my Instagram account is well established, my goal is to dedicate at least one day a week to blog and to my YT channel.

My journey started on Instagram about 4 years ago (side gig), I had to come up with a name. I tried for days trying to come up with a name, but nothing really appealed to me. Then my daughter who studied visual arts and graphic design, finally came up with “ICEERESULTS”. The first letter has my name followed by “CEERESULTS”. When you read the name to yourself, you’re saying “I See Results”. This could be positive or negative results. For instant, I could wear a blush that gave me a rash, so my result would be a negative one or adore a ring I cherish which would be a positive result. Everything we do in life, the outcome could either be driven by a positive or negative result. I decided to stick with “Lifestyle” so that I’m not limited to one type of brand. For me, it’s so exciting trying all sorts of products and getting to see what new stuff is on the market. I even have my dog posing with some of her gifted products. And let me tell you, she really could be the next dog star.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My three advise to you.
1. Believe: You must first believe in yourself in order to take that push or next step into what you want to do. Don’t listen to anyone but your heart. And just do it. You will not know the outcome unless you try. And if it’s a failure, try again and again until you succeed.
2. Knowledge: Keep learning! Do your research and ask questions. Don’t just be a taker, give advise as well. This works two ways.
3. Selfcare: This is very important so that you don’t experience burnout. A hot bubble bath, watching a movie, treating yourself to something special, going on walks to clear your mind, staying off social media for at least one or two days, or talking a mini vacation.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The challenge that I’m facing is getting more sponsored collaborations. I do get a handful of sponsored collaborations, but it would be nice to at least get 3 – 5 a week. To resolve this issue, I started messaging and emailing brands two to three times a week. You just have to be persistent!
