We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ingrid “B” Bazin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ingrid “B” below.
Ingrid “B”, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
It found me. I was in college, working a regular job, and supporting a friend’s poetry night by doing what I do best—telling people the hot spots in South Florida. I had this Yahoo group, and I’d invite folks every week. I developed a love for the art. I didn’t plan to be in the poetry world, but it pulled me in. One invite turned into a movement, and the rest is B Side history.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I curate the kind of events I’d want to attend—soulful, intentional, and rooted in community. For over 24 years, I’ve hosted and curated poetry and live music experiences throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and beyond—nationally and internationally. From small open mics to large-scale productions, the goal has always been the same: to hold space for real people and real vices
Through my brand, On The B Side, I’m committed to amplifying underrepresented artists—especially in the spoken word and indie music scenes. What excites me most is watching someone step to the mic for the first time, share something raw, and realize they’re not alone. These events aren’t just entertainment—they are platforms for healing, truth-telling, and connection.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three things got me this far: consistency, community, and good ol’ Taurus stubbornness.
Consistency matters. I’ve been showing up—online, on stage, and in spirit—for years. Even when the room was empty or the budget was tight, I kept going. That builds trust, and trust builds legacy.
Community is everything. None of this works without people—artists, supporters, strangers turned family. Pour into them, and let them pour into you. That’s how you grow something that lasts.
And stubbornness? Look, I’m a Taurus. Once I’m in, I’m in. I don’t quit easy. That kind of commitment has carried me through every “maybe I should just stop” moment. My advice? Be relentless about what you love. Don’t just chase passion—anchor yourself in it.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely. I’m always looking to collaborate with brands, media platforms, and sponsors who value culture, creativity, and community. If you’re passionate about supporting the arts, uplifting underrepresented voices, and connecting with engaged, soulful audiences—then we’re already aligned.
Whether it’s partnering on a signature event, co-creating content, or sponsoring experiences that leave a real impact, I’m open to building with folks who see the value in what we’re cultivating On The B Side.
