Meet Ingrid Gonzalez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ingrid Gonzalez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ingrid , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I would say from my faith i always have faith that everything will pass. everything happen for a reason that I’m a good person I can always do whatever I committed with. I know for my own experience that I decided a rough path but its what I definitely what to do for the rest of my life. if I can get down I can get up. I have to say that I developed a strong self conversation that help me when my mind gets distracted.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’ve been a hairstylist for 20 years. Have worked in 3 different countries: Colombia, Panama and USA. My dream has always been to serve people with good hair products, so when the pandemic started I told myself this is the time. I started my own company.

A year later I came out with my personal hair brand, Nova by Ingrid Gonzalez. It was a hit! Everybody liked my products. I was pregnant with my first child when I started selling my hair products in Kosher markets pharmacy, Beauty salons, Walmart and Amazon.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Patient, faith a lot of discipline. To me, my company is another son no matters what happened I will always be there. Everything in life is time. We don’t have to believe every storm your mind creates. we need to disinfects our thoughts. Don’t underestimate the power of yourself.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Disruptive Thinking by TD jakes. It helps me to understand that I’m not responsible where I was born. but I’m responsible for my future. You have to be present in your life to be able to better yourself. you can’t get new results with the same believe system.
