We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ingrid Jordan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ingrid, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
When watching movies or TV series I teleport myself to that particular scene or storyline. I don’t just watch movies anymore, I stare into the director’s soul to understand the mission. My creativity comes from a combination of elite actors and legendary directors.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. Please tell your readers about what you do, what you feel is most exciting or special about it, as well as anything else you like folks to know about your brand/art/etc..?
I like to read scripts sure enough, but to love a script is to become the very words in front of you. The mental transformation and dedication it takes to penetrate the audience’s emotion is what I’m here for. Also, being a Co-Founder of my company “Reel Deal” gives my the humbling privilege to create and guide actors everyday that are talented just like me. Clients become family and it’s a beautiful thing to see us all win.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Qualities for myself fall under being observant, learning from mistakes and applying a solution, and remembering to have fun.
A skill requires technique, I can say with my eye disease it’s a gift and curse, but actually more so a gift. Turning my flaw upside down it became a skill to memorize a fresh script on the fly because I couldn’t read the script in mid-scene in my acting class. So I ended up strengthening my other senses.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
God brought specific individuals/ influences along my path of life to enhance my thinking and relentlessness. There isn’t one name along my path that trumps another. I just thank God for leading them my way.
