Meet Irene Mazour

We recently connected with Irene Mazour and have shared our conversation below.

Irene , thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?

This can be tricky… when people hate on me or my work and I don’t know them, it is pretty easy to shrug it off. People who only see the part of the iceberg sticking out of the water miss the giant mass of it under the waves. There is so much richness to one person and their story, and I believe I’m no exception to that.

When people criticize my goals or think I’m crazy for pursuing acting, I remind myself only God and I need to see my calling. It will be shown to the rest of the world when the time is right.

When people close to me drag me down, I’ve really had to lean on my faith and the few close friends I have. There is a small handful of friends who keep it real when I’m off track, but correct me with love. They also cheer me on when I’m having doubts that come from my mind or the haters. I’m blessed God brought me the people I needed and need at the times I needed them most.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Being an actress, especially not an A lister (yet 😉) can at times seem pretty amazing to some or a false statement to others. However, acting is an extensive field of work and a career that has the potential to inspire, change, or reflect the world we live in. I’m honored to be a creative, even if I haven’t attained the larger roles I want just yet.

My current focus is launching my new branding campaign for acting in 2025 as well as submitting scripts I’ve written into festivals for review. I will be tirelessly saving funds to finish filming the Western I wrote called Wild Horses and Wolves. We began production this year and my goal is to have it completed by mid 2025.

Creativity was given to us by the Creator Himself. I’m grateful to have a passion for the arts and to have had the courage to pursue it despite setbacks and dealing with negative reactions from some individuals in my inner circle. I hope everyone discovers the passions God gave them and pursues them unapologetically with courage and kindness.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Wow… top 3….. Here we go.

1. Stubbornness

Although being stubborn can be a negative trait, it has the potential to be a positive trait as it transforms into perseverance when a person matures. When I was young I would refuse to do things that I couldn’t be good at right away…just ask my sister about playing basketball or when she attempted to teach me how to ride a bike! I was a little sassy and whiny at times… However when I applied this stubbornness to achieving high grades in school or was determined to get a horse despite many obstacles, it helped me to fight for myself and those around me.

2. Jill of all trades

It’s great to specialize in one thing, but it is beneficial to have good skills in multiple areas of life. Living in a small town I was fortunate enough to learn how to do many things from: caring to lawns and lawnmowers, to riding horses, to playing in band, and participating in theater. All of these experiences aides in building me up as a human with hobbies and varied interests. Now I take these experiences and knowledge to apply to life skills and acting roles.

3. Positive perspective aka Gratitude

It is usually easy to see the negative in this world or find the “I can’ts”. DON’T let that be where your mind goes. Train yourself to see the whole picture, to find the silver lining, and to work toward a solution rather than remain pessimistic.

It sometines takes days and weeks of forming the habits to speak life into you and those around you, but it is needed. Looking for solutions or learning to walk through discomfort with hope can be the difference between experiencing one’s triumphs or drowning in one’s failures.

Overall advice… persevere to the path God has made for you. Learn in many areas and utilize the knowledge for the area of specialty you are working on. Find gratitude and positive moments no matter circumstances and speak life into you and those around you.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes!

As an actress I am always looking to collab with creatives. I want to bring stories to life and ultimately to the big and silver screens.

As a writer and creator, I am in search of a writing partner that loves what they do. Someone that is hardworking and reliable. Someone that enjoyss writing and editing and finessing a script. I am pretty good at coming up with characters and worlds, but my true passion is acting, so building a writing partner relationship is top on my list.

I also will be casting for roles for my Western soon and looking for crew.

So basically, if you want to reach out and we can see if we fit as creatives…. let’s do it!
