Meet Irianna Keith

We recently connected with Irianna Keith and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Irianna, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

I step confidently into rooms where I may be the only one who looks like me, knowing that God has placed me there for a purpose. I learned to simply just apply pressure, be myself and trust that I am deserving of being there; that’s the only way I know how to be is myself. I’m at a place in my life where I’m in competition with myself and no one else. I choose to focus on personal growth and self-improvement every day, striving to unlock my full potential and be the best version of Irianna. So, I don’t concern myself with who else is present in the room. My presence in the room is what matters most.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hello, I am Irianna, owner of Irie’s Teaching Binders LLC, a business dedicated to providing learning resources for children aged 1-13. Our hands-on learning tools are designed to foster growth and advancement in their education. Our products are versatile and can be utilized at any time and anywhere. Our company is known for our best selling customized teaching binders for children. We have recently launched our Cursive teaching book for children and will soon offer tutoring services to elementary and middle school students.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

As I reflect on my journey thus far, I recognize that I am still in the early stages of my development as a business owner. The past year has taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges. Through my experiences, I have had the opportunity to hone my leadership, creativity, and confidence skills, which I believe are essential for anyone looking to startup their business. Here’s my advice and definitions for leadership, creativity, and confidence in business:
1. Possessing leadership skills before starting a business is crucial, especially if you aim to expand your brand or plan to hire employees. This skill should be developed early on, as you are the leader of your business.
2. Being unique and creative while, standing out from similar businesses is important. Make your business distinctive and attractive to customers. For instance, while Walmart and Target are both grocery stores, customers often prefer one over the other due to their differences.
3. Having confidence in your business or product is very important, as it instills trust in potential customers. If you’re not confident, how can you expect others to be confident in your product or services? Additionally, stepping out on faith and sharing information about your business with others can lead to unexpected opportunities. Don’t be afraid to showcase your brand to potential clients and investors who might be interested in what you have to offer.
In conclusion, these skills are highly recommended as they have proven to be instrumental in my success. However, further skill development will be needed in order to stay ahead and achieve long-term goals. Remember to keep God at the center of your business, as he is the core ingredient for a successful company.
