We were lucky to catch up with Isa Diaz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Isa , sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
Since I was a child I was always ‘different’ from other kids around me, as most would say. So I had a long time to get used to sitting back and analyzing other peoples interactions. I’ve never truly over came my mental health issues. Even now, I go to therapy every week and still learn things about myself. From diagnosis to diagnosis I always still persist. Why? Because I can still do anything I set my mind on, as my mom and dad say. My support system is amazing. Having a loving family is a blessing. Blessed for my mom and dad, my little brother and sister, for my nephews and nieces and my husband most of all.
They all keep me grounded and remind me why I’m so blessed to be here. And also why I have to keep going.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My brands focus is quite simple. Spread love. And not in the way most expect. It started by doing readings for people and helping them chose better decisions to become their better selves. When I realized people were actually progressing, I decided to see just how much I really could do. I expanded with things like spell work, then selling blessed jewelry and crystals. And now, our focus is spreading the love and trying to help small, local businesses get their names out too.
So I encourage up and coming entrepreneurs to not be afraid to ask for help or receive it!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, my compassion, my ability to openly receive and accept knowledge on any and all topics and being able to keep that knowledge and tie it into new knowledge I came across has definitely helped me along the way. Compassion helped pave the way when doing readings, I truly get to feel what my client feels, so I can truly sympathize if needed. Doing research and learning I feel is a large part of not only business, but life as well. So being able to research, soak in and apply all knowledge I learn is a blessing in itself.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed, I’ve learned that the best thing for me to do is start creating lists. Now at first you can start with the general to do list. If that’s too overwhelming, you break it down into smaller, manageable tasks that are easily to mentally handle.
