Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Isaac Waters. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Isaac, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
When people ask me where my optimism comes from, it makes me chuckle because I often call myself an “eternal optimist” to my friends and the people I help. I think being optimistic is super important, especially in my work in mental health. Optimism is like the purest form of hope—it’s what keeps us going even when things get tough. Some say you need to feel pain to change, but I believe hope and optimism are what really help us see a way through our problems and reach our goals. In mental health, being optimistic is like giving someone a helping hand, showing them that things can get better. For me, I want to be able to model that hope and optimism with everyone.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I started Recovery Frameworks in 2020. Recovery Frameworks’ services were built from the ground up to support your individual needs. The key? Peer support. This philosophy behind the coaching and companionship we provide is proven to be effective across numerous mood, anxiety, and behavior disorders.
Our coaches and companions understand, address, and empathize with substance use, disordered eating, and mental health challenges because they have been through the same difficulties. They will be present for the challenges and the breakthroughs that occur in early recovery. And dedicated case managers will provide resources local to you that utilize your strengths to support your recovery.
No matter the challenge, our approach remains the same: To empower the individuals that we work with to develop ambitious goals, to hold them accountable to their goals, and to inspire them through both personal experience and close relationships.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For me it has to be hope, resilience, and my ability to ask for help. I think these skills kind of go hand in hand. They feed into one another and create this upward spiral of growth.
I think it all starts with asking for help. Asking for help puts me in a position to open myself up enough to learn from other people’s wisdom and experience. I get to this place of seeing a path in front of me, and then when I walk that path, I gain the resilience to overcome and do it again. After a few of those experiences, I have hope that I can continue on any path of growth.
How would you describe your ideal client?
An ideal client for me is an individual or a family that feels that they have tried everything to overcome the damages caused by different mental health struggles but keep finding themselves in the same space. I like to work with these people because I want to inspire the hope and to lead them down a path of finding a sustainable change in the trajectory of their lives in overcoming different mental health struggles.
