Meet Isabel Ramirez

We recently connected with Isabel Ramirez and have shared our conversation below.

Isabel , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I discovered my purpose through my journey in the social media world, where I’ve been working since 2016. Over the years, I learned how powerful these platforms are not just for visibility, but for truly communicating with an audience in ways that create trust and connection.

When I launched Salsa Digital, I realized that my purpose wasn’t just about creating content, but about helping businesses grow by telling their stories in authentic ways. Now that we’ve become more food-focused as an agency, that purpose feels even stronger. We’re passionate about connecting with the diverse audiences of our clients, showcasing how unique and special each restaurant or food business is. What excites me most is finding and maintaining a distinct brand voice for every client, because no two stories are the same.

Ultimately, my purpose is about helping our clients not only grow online but also bring in loyal customers who feel genuinely connected to their brand and their experience. That’s what drives me and fuels Salsa Digital every day.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the founder of Salsa Digital Agency, which I started six years ago with the goal of helping brands tell their stories and grow through social media. What began as a passion for communication and digital creativity has evolved into a boutique agency that now specializes in the food and hospitality space. Working closely with restaurants, cafés, wineries, and chefs across the San Diego, Tijuana and Valle de Guadalupe region has been incredibly rewarding, because food is such a powerful connector, it carries culture, tradition, and experience all in one.

What excites me the most about what we do at Salsa Digital is the ability to capture the unique identity of every client and translate it into content that resonates with their community. No two accounts are the same: we carefully craft brand voices, visuals, and strategies that bring each place’s personality to life. Whether it’s showcasing the artistry of an omakase experience, the energy of a bustling market, or the warmth of a neighborhood café, our mission is to highlight what makes each business truly special.

Right now, we’re focused on growing our portfolio of hospitality clients and expanding our creative services. Beyond social media management, we also offer photography, videography, event coverage, influencer collaborations, and PR outreach. We’re especially excited about upcoming campaigns that will spotlight new restaurant openings and unique dining experiences in the region. Our work is not just about “likes” or visibility, it’s about building long-term loyalty, helping businesses thrive, and elevating the food culture that inspires us every day.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The first and most impactful quality has been learning how important it is to build a strong, committed team. Salsa Digital wouldn’t be where it is today without the talented people who bring their creativity, dedication, and passion to the work. My advice for anyone starting out is to invest in your team culture early. Surround yourself with people who share your vision and values, and create an environment where everyone feels inspired and supported to grow.

The second is adaptability. The digital world changes constantly, algorithms, trends, and platforms never stay the same for long. Being open to learning, experimenting, and pivoting when necessary has allowed me to keep Salsa Digital moving forward and delivering results for our clients. For those starting out, my advice is to stay curious, keep educating yourself, and don’t be afraid to try new approaches.

The third is strategic communication. Social media is more than posting pretty content, it’s about understanding audiences, crafting the right message, and creating consistency across platforms. That skill has been at the core of building trust and loyalty for our clients. If you’re just beginning, I’d encourage you to practice listening just as much as speaking, learn what your audience responds to, and let that guide your strategy.

Together, these three qualities; team building, adaptability, and communication have shaped my journey and continue to guide how I grow Salsa Digital today.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

Without a doubt, the biggest support has come from my team. They are the heart of Salsa Digital, and their creativity and commitment constantly push me to grow as a leader. I also couldn’t have done this without my husband, who has supported me in every step of this journey, as well as my friends and family who have always encouraged me to keep going.

And of course, our clients have been an incredible source of learning and inspiration. Every project is a new challenge, understanding their needs, adapting to their goals, and finding unique ways to create amazing things for them keeps me evolving. I love that this work automatically pushes you to keep learning, and I’m grateful for everyone who has been part of that journey.
