Meet Isabella Kaufmann

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Isabella Kaufmann a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Isabella, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Well, I was shown, by my very own mr Miyagi, that my purpose was not out there somewhere in the world, but right here at home within me. All I had to do, was bring it into the light. Not a super comfortable process, I’ll tell you, but priceless, nonetheless. I discovered through getting quiet, and asking myself the question “what didn’t I get when I was a kid, that I really needed?”, I found that I never felt understood. I felt inspired to prevent people from feeling the same way. In this, my passionate “why” was revealed to me: the desire to help people that feel something bigger than words can describe, feel understood. Growing up, I was a kid with such deep emotions that I felt like an alien to everyone around me, because not many people could relate. Art was (and still is) my safe space, where I went to explore my inner world and feel understood within myself. Through practicing art I created a skill for myself, and it became more than just a place for me to understand myself, but a path for me to serve others as well.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a Communication artist, who works with both digital and physical mediums. My favorite among them being watercolor. Currently I am very excited about a children’s book project I’m illustrating for called “Awaken the one” created by: re-parenting coach, Lisa Watson. We have three books completed in the first series “the mindfulness within” which helps provide children with emotional regulation tools. This series has been picked up by a publisher and will be out in the public soon! Another side of my work which I am also passionate about currently is creating logos for entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and startups assisting them to communicate their authentic vision and reach people in ways that words cannot! It’s so fun to see someone get re-inspired for their business idea when they see their vision in logo form!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

My number one skill that I value most highly is my resiliency. The amount of times I felt like a failure really kicked my butt, but I am so proud of myself for continuing to get up off the floor, adjust and keep going! My dream life Is one that I make every day, all I had to do was not give up on it, and try new things when something wasn’t working!

Another skill that I am incredibly grateful for is my drive to make friends and create a thriving network! Many say your network is your net worth, and I have found that to be more true than any other saying in the entrepreneur field! We all need help, I believe we actually can’t get very far at all without it! Whether it’s important advice from older people, word of mouth marketing, or just mental health support, a community is the most valuable thing I have created on my journey.

Lastly, the main practice of my business and my life has always been to create a better and better mindset. You can create anything in your life that you want to, the only person who could ever stand in your way is YOU. Working on untangling programming, rewriting beliefs and practicing self love have been the root of all my successes; and it all has all started within. I have learned that the inner work is truly the fastest tract to your dreams.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

I have had many mentors along the way, so it is hard to give credit to just one, but I would say my life has been the most impacted by two women:

Mythica Blessyng and Lisa Watson.

both mindset coaches in different ways who have helped me believe in myself and gave me the tools to emotionally regulate and confidently deal with challenges as they arise.

And of course my dad, who was the first entrepreneur I ever knew. Seemingly invincible, he passionately following his love for photography and made a career out of it with no formal training. He was voted best photographer in Colorado three years in a row, and became highly successful for a small business in a less lucrative time. He gave me the confidence to become an artist. I am eternally grateful that he nurtured my gift and always encouraged me to follow my own path.
