Meet Isabella & Michelle Doherty

We were lucky to catch up with Isabella & Michelle Doherty recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Isabella & Michelle with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Isabella: Definitely my mom. I watched her raise me as a single mother while working hard to put food on the table. She’s been an entrepreneur for most of my life, and because of that, she was able to show up for everything—every sports event, every field trip, every choir concert. Seeing her balance it all and still be present made that kind of dedication and work ethic feel like the norm. It’s just how we do things around here.

Michelle: Having to pay the bills as a single mother—that’s where it all started. I had to make ends meet, and there was no option but to get it done. I knew I had people counting on me, not just to solve problems, but to love on them, to be present, and to provide. My daughter is my biggest motivator and has been for the past 25 years. Everything I’ve done, every late night, every early morning—it’s all been to build a life where she feels supported, empowered, and capable of doing anything she sets her mind to.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

At Nips & Sips, we bring the fun, the aesthetic, and the unforgettable experience to every event with our elegant mobile bar and champagne cart rental. Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, grand opening, or just a reason to celebrate, we create an Instagrammable atmosphere where every sip feels special.

What makes us different? We’re a mother-daughter duo who put love and personality into every event. We don’t just serve drinks—we curate an experience that’s effortlessly chic, trendy, and tailored to your vibe. Our bartenders are fun, our setups are stunning, and we take care of all the details so you can simply enjoy the moment.

We’re especially excited about the expansion of our mobile bar services! While our champagne cart is perfect for elegant, self-serve moments, we’re now offering a full-service bar option out of a beautifully converted horse trailer. This means we can bring beer, wine, cocktails, and more to events of all sizes. We’re also working on exclusive collaborations with event venues and event planners to make booking even easier for our clients.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Michelle: Looking back, the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey were:

Never giving up. No matter if you’re at your highest or lowest, you can’t stop. You have to push through. There will be tough days, unexpected challenges, and moments of doubt, but success comes from persistence. Keep moving forward, even when it feels impossible.

Taking accountability and learning from failure. It’s easy to blame others when things don’t go as planned, but growth happens when you own your mistakes and learn from them. Every failure is a lesson—it’s just a matter of whether you choose to take it.

Listening—really listening. Over time, you realize that success isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about shutting up and truly hearing what your clients, customers, and even peers are saying. We all come from different experiences, which means we think differently. When you take the time to listen, appreciate different perspectives, and keep an open mind, you not only improve your business—you become a better leader.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely! We’re always looking to partner with event venues and event planners who want to elevate their events with a unique and elegant bar experience. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or private celebration, we love collaborating with professionals who share our passion for creating unforgettable moments.

Our mobile bar and champagne cart bring an aesthetic touch that guests love, and we make the process seamless for venues and planners by handling all the bar details—so they can focus on the bigger picture!
