Meet Isaiah Jean-paul

We recently connected with Isaiah Jean-paul and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Isaiah , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

No matter what setting I end up being in I’m always the youngest in the room, but I feel like that’s what makes me.. me.

Despite being so much younger than everyone I’m always up to par if not working harder than everyone else in the room and that’s what makes my age so effective, because when people see that kid in the room full of adults working harder than the adults they have to respect it

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I really do the whole nine. cinematography, acting , modeling , photography.. even live streaming . You name it I do it .

That’s why I’m just given a creative director title because i dabble into every form of art. Few months ago i was on photoVogue, Last month I was doing videography at a Tommy Richman concert and a YungManny concert , I’m currently acting in a movie that’s almost done wrapping up, this month I just did some modeling shoots for “CIANO.tm” and currently I’m putting the finishing touches on launching my first clothing line “Jean-Paul Ateliers” , so to me I feel my talent is realy boundless

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Everything I do is for the art and the love of it and everything that Jean-Paul name is attached to matches my criteria of quality and aesthetic which is why people always check for me .

A lot of people try to work with anyone no matter what quality is produced because they can get a quick check from it. But that doesn’t build a strong community if you’re only up to par half the time. because everyone and everything you put yourself around is a reflection of yourself.

And using connections is such a big play people don’t understand . It’s rare to see anyone come up without any networking , connections ,or a big bro. Half the opportunities I’ve gotten is from sending mad emails and DMs over and over because I was that confident in what I could offer , I just needed the opportunity.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My Uncle was and still is my biggest inspiration for what i do and he pays for the adobe suite that I use for all my videos and photos so without him there is no me , really influenced me in what I do with photos and videos and keeps my head on a swivel with being on the internet since I was younger , and of course my parents who always take me to shoots and help out with production here and there. Super blessed to have such a supportive circle
