Meet Isaiah Smith

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Isaiah Smith. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Isaiah below.

Isaiah, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
The way I built up my confidence and self esteem was through the form of acting. Theatre played a heavy influence of the person I am today. Performing through different genres of productions helps me explore new aspects of me as a person. Another major influence was my podcast, seeing the influence I have on the listeners gives me great confidence.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As far as my career, I am focus on creating a lane for myself in the media space. In 2020, I created “The Zaya Show” a podcast where we are learning to become our true selves. The podcast is currently on season 7, and reaching new heights in the indie podcast community. In 2023, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University. Currently I am pursing my masters in Strategic Communication with my Alma mater. In the future, I will be opening my own podcast network called “BEU”. This network will give the ownership back to the creators, and help established business create a new form of content for their audience.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three important qualities that impacted my journey are resilience, perseverance, and determination. In my life I faced challenges as being a gay black man. I had people discourage me from pursing my dreams, and even who I should love. However, I didn’t let those people stop me from doing what I want do. I didn’t let them stop me from being me. I’m so proud of myself that I stood my ground and had faith in my abilities to build a life that is authentic to me.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, for “The Zaya Show” I am always looking for new talent, entrepreneurs, and activists who want to share their stories. Being a guest on my podcast does not have requirements as far as background. We live in an unprecedented time, where people have the opportunity to vocalize their stories. My guest on the podcast are open-minded, passionate, and want to share their stories in hopes to inspire the audience. They can connect with me through email at [email protected]
