We were lucky to catch up with ITing Kao recently and have shared our conversation below.
ITing, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I believe that finding purpose is a continuous journey, one that we explore until our last breath. Life is like a rollercoaster, with its ups and downs. For me, the purpose of life is intertwined with our identity and the intentions behind our actions.
My life purpose is built on the foundation of kindness: being a good person, doing good things, turning pain into compassion and empathy, and being grateful.
Goals help me find my purpose at different stages of life, encouraging self-reflection and continuous adjustment. On the way to achieve the goals, either short term or long term, big or small, there will be difficulties and pain. I believe that all discomfort serves as a catalyst for self-discovery, helping us better understand ourselves and find a life purpose that suits us. This process aids us in becoming the person we want to be and doing what we want to do.
Additionally, reading is a wonderful way to broaden our horizons. Sometimes, living in our own world every day can narrow our perspective, making us think that this is all there is. But reading transcends time, language, and race, connecting us with people far away and revealing the many possibilities in the world.
Writing a journal is also incredibly beneficial for me. The various experiences and emotions we encounter are valuable nutrients for our growth. Writing them down helps me remember those moments, process emotions, and organize my thoughts, ultimately fostering a deeper understanding of myself.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a Creative Designer and Animator born in Taipei, Taiwan, currently living and working in New York. My primary focus is on 3D design and animation. My style involves capturing distinctive humor, conveying a sense of joy, and providing aesthetic pleasure for my viewers. While residing in New York, I continually push my creative boundaries by exploring various styles and methods to create more compelling artwork. Through my work, I aim to bring joy and laughter to diverse audiences.
I specialize in 3D anamorphic billboards, which utilize anamorphic art or design to create a three-dimensional illusion when viewed from a specific angle. I have collaborated with numerous corporations to enhance their product visibility and promote them with impactful visuals that come to life. Understanding clients’ needs, conducting thorough research on the brand and product, and devising optimal solutions to overcome potential challenges are integral parts of my approach.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience, Passion, and Flexibility are fundamental pillars in my creative journey. Patience is not just about waiting but about persevering through each deliberate step forward. In the world of creativity, where every stroke, word, or note can define a piece, patience becomes a virtue that guides me through the meticulous process of refining ideas into meaningful creations. It’s a reminder that great work often requires time and dedication.
Passion fuels my creative endeavors, infusing each project with enthusiasm and purpose. Yet, sustaining this passion amidst the pressures of deadlines and the complexities of the creative process can be challenging. I’ve learned that nurturing passion involves finding moments of inspiration, whether through exploring new techniques, collaborating with others, or simply taking a step back to recharge. Balancing this intensity with moments of reflection ensures that my creativity remains vibrant and authentic.
Flexibility complements patience and passion by encouraging openness to new perspectives and approaches. It’s about embracing uncertainty and being willing to adapt to evolving circumstances. I’ve come to appreciate that creative breakthroughs often emerge when I allow myself to explore unconventional ideas or methods. This openness not only enhances my creative output but also enriches my journey by leading me to unexpected discoveries.
Reflecting on my work, I recognize the dual nature of my self-critical perspective. While it pushes me to strive for excellence and refine my craft continually, it also presents challenges in maintaining objectivity. I often scrutinize my creations for imperfections that others might not notice, a process that demands both resilience and humility. This introspective approach serves as a catalyst for growth, driving me to refine my skills and push the boundaries of my creativity.
In essence, the principles of patience, passion, and flexibility shape my creative evolution, guiding me toward greater artistic fulfillment and personal growth. They remind me that creativity is not just about the finished product but also about the journey of discovery and self-expression. As I continue to navigate this path, I embrace these virtues as cornerstones of my artistic pursuit, propelling me forward in the pursuit of excellence.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m open to working with anyone who shares a passion for innovation and is eager to experiment with new approaches. Flexibility and a willingness to step outside comfort zones are qualities I value in potential collaborators. Together, we can create work that is dynamic, impactful, and resonates with audiences on a deeper level.
Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] if you’re interested in exploring creative collaborations or discussing potential projects. I look forward to connecting and discovering how our combined talents can bring imaginative ideas to life.
