Meet Ivonne Good

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ivonne Good. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Ivonne, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

Making others happy and proud of themselves with their work (painting workshops).
I also like covering up the need for comfort after loosing a love one (I started painting pet portraits who have crossed the rainbow).
Painting is an activity that is helping me to go through my grief (I recently lost my mom), and it has been a relaxing hobby I’ve always enjoyed since I was a little kid.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Part of my work focuses more on the experiences; however, every participant goes back home with a piece of artwork made by themselves. It’s not just guiding people through the process of painting something cool but also making it a fun and entertaining activity.
On the other hand, I’ve always had painted since I was a little kid. I never did this professionally since I decided to study Tourism as a career and got a bachelor’s degree in it. But when I moved to USA, got married, had kids (we have two young boys), I had enough time to enjoy raising them and think about a business plan, to continue raising my children without sacrificing my productivity. A friend of mine encouraged me to start doing paint and sip events; so I did. My profession has actually helped me a lot along the way because tourism is all about experience.
One of the places I work with is BricknBarn in Valley Center CA and it’s has been an amazing platform for me to meet people and get connections. It’s a nice network.
I recently lost my mom and it has been a very hard time for me; but this has inspired me to help others to go through their grief time. I started painting pet portraits of those who have crossed the rainbow and I’ve been pretty busy luckily.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I would say that determination, courage and positivism were the elements that helped me to live and develop a fun little business in a different country and language. Never give up.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

I definitely have to say that my mother and my lovely husband. These two have been my best friends and support. Unfortunately, my mom passed recently and I feel like I’m a part of myself; however, my husband and best friend is not letting me down.
