We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jace Dowe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jace below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jace with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from being in the space that I’m in. I’m constantly being pushed and moved by seeing how others create and do things and to be honest, its extremely inspiring. It makes me want to be even more creative with my videos and other lanes I continue to step into. I’m a very competitive person and want to be the best, so I’m always trying to outwork myself and the others around me.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi! My name is Jace Dowe, also known as “JaceTooFunny.” I make comedic skits and videos about literally anything. I personally feel like there’s a little bit, if not a lot of comedy in everything. As much as I’m focused on comedy and pure entertainment, I would love to also be seen in “serious” roles when it comes to acting. Being funny is a big part of my brand, I mean the word “funny” is literally in my name but I want to show the world I can do more then just make people laugh.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 most important qualities and skills that has helped me the most in my journey would have to be…1 its believing that you can do it. It literally starts there, no one else is gonna do it for you and also you have to ask yourself, “why not you?” Everyone else is doing it, so why do you believe you cant do it? Number 2 would have to be consistency. You have to find your “thing” and keep feeding the machine. That’s how you stay relevant in this space. Finally the last one would have to be knowing when to pivot and try new things, new people, new locations etc. The thing that works for you on Monday, might not work on Tuesday. Numbers fluctuate all the time, so with that being said don’t stress out, don’t overthink anything, just keep working and experimenting.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
The people who has helped me most would have to be my friends who helps me with all of my videos. They tell me what I need to hear and what I don’t wanna hear. There constantly pushing me to the best of my ability when it comes to my craft.
