Meet Jacian Blaze

We were lucky to catch up with Jacian Blaze recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jacian , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from times of difficulty and suffering. I always say “The bottom will teach you things the top never will.” and I believe that statement is true. The reason why is because in the midst of battling challenges and rough circumstances, a decision is always made. That decision is to either keep moving forward, or to move backwards. When you embrace the good and the bad, letting everything happen to you, the beauty and terror, you understand no feeling is final. Which for me, gives me a switch in perspective in the moment I am going through something. The dream is free, the hustle is sold separately, you have to work hard for it. When you do what is hard, your life will be easy, when you do what is easy, your life will be hard. You have to learn to be uncomfortable, to become comfortable. And I am never comfortable.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a 22 year old singer-songwriter and musician from a small town of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. I recently made the decision to leave my hometown to pursue my music career in Nashville, TN. Ive been releasing music, recording, and performing shows ever since I was 15, and always dreamt of fulfilling my potential when it came to my passion for the arts. Since moving to Nashville, Ive recently learned to enjoy the journey, and to be in the moment. Ever since I was a kid, I dreamt of sharing my voice with the world, making music, writing, and performing on big stages. Ive realized, having an end goal is a great thing to have when pursuing your career, but living for today, is the joy of the pursuit. Instead of wanting to “make it”, i enjoy the times “making it happen.” Life is a journey and being in the moment of all its aspects, makes the journey much more beautiful.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think there is a never ending list a person can obtain when it comes to skills and qualities. But id say the 3 most important qualities are to be kind to yourself, practice patience, and to never give up. I don’t believe I am in the position to ever give others advice, as everyone is walking their own road when it comes to their lives. But I will say, stay true to who you are. Even if that means you are left alone, disliked, loved, cherished, judged, with or against. Being your own being Is a special thing, and not everyone will understand that. And that is okay. When you are true to yourself, that means you are also true to those who are around you. Folks also appreciate that when you live your life the way you want, because you choose to.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Im always looking to work with other artists with similar aspirations and views. Collaboration and sharing creativity is a beautiful thing and I think a lot of great works can be made from it. If anyone would want to make music together, they can contact me on instagram @ JacianBlaze.
